Ahhh the satisfying crunch of beef bark!
Beef bark aka Hairy Beef Skin is a great long-lasting chew that suits most dogs!
🕰️ It’s a tough chew that has to get quite soft before a dog can break a piece off. This means it will keep dogs busy for a while, it eliminates the possibility of puncturing from sharp points or edges, and there is very low risk of choking. Of course, when the beef bark gets too small, if the dog isn’t a sensible chewer, it’s best to safely take the item away from your dog (e.g., trading for some treats).
🦷 Many tough chews, like weight bearing bones, aren’t suitable for dogs with stronger jaws, like bully breeds. This is because the force they could apply to such a dense bone could fracture their teeth. Fortunately, beef bark is a tough chew but it’s not dense meaning it’s a great long-lasting option for these breeds too!
