we take in ferrets around nottingham UK and the surrounding areas. we aim to rehabilitate and rehome where possible. however sometimes this isnt possible so we offer a forever home to those who need a little extra care. Today we have had some very very sad news.

After his surgery last Wednesday Dingo recovered almost immediately and was back to his wonderful chaotic self.
Unfortunately, he was on the older side and without warning he passed in his sleep last night.

As alot of you are probably aware, Dingo was Jayys baby. He was one of the last ferrets who saw the start to the end of moving the rescue.

He had been through it all. He had doors named after him (dingo door that locks ferrets in enclosures for cleaning). If youve ever adopted a ferret from us you will also see on your forms Dingo dates (vhob dates). He was now retired from the public due to age but he was the rescues first vasectomised hob. He served so many jills over the years.
He was so loving and so special.

We are devastated and so heartbroken 💔

You will be forever missed Dingo! Vhob dates will forever be known as Dingo dates.

Breeding season is here...

A 7 year old ferret surrendered.

And separately 5 kits (all female) and mum with 2 of mums friends surrendered today.
We are greatful to the person who brought them to us as they werent in the best of conditions.
1 of the jills needs a lump removal and all will need spaying.
We need a litter theme...£1 per name suggestion. We are fundraising for a lump removal.

We will close the suggestion on Wednesday 3rd june

Today we had 2 successfully surgeries. 1 ferret related and 1 rat related!

A lot of you will know Dingo, our vasectomised hob. Over the weekend, he was found in quite a poorly state after somehow fracturing a canine tooth, which caused swelling down the side of his face (god knows how he managed that 🙄). He wasn’t eating or drinking, so we started him on strong pain relief, antibiotics as a precaution, syringe feeding, and fluids. By Sunday, he had started eating soft food again, which was a huge relief. After the bank holiday, we were able to get him booked in, and he had his dental treatment today, giving him instant relief. He’s now back to eating solids and is already bouncing back to his usual self.

Here at Marley's ferret rescue and rehoming, we don’t just take in ferrets, we take in any animal in need. We do this entirely out of our own pockets and separately from the charity, simply because we care.
We wanted to introduce one of our latest intakes, Radish. She and her sister, Breadcrumb, were being given away for free on social media. Sadly, Radish came to us with a mammary tumour.
Today, she underwent surgery to have the lump removed, along with a spay to help reduce the chances of it returning. She’s now recovering with lots of love and care.
