Staffies get labelled as terrible pullers and the standard fix is ‘corrections’ (shorthand for yanking the dog’s neck on the lead).
For a breed with a short, thick neck and that much muscle behind it, jerking on the lead is genuinely risky for the spine.
Same dog, three days apart. No corrections, no force, just clear teaching and a hand lure that faded out fast.
Positive reinforcement isn’t instant, but it’s a lot quicker than people think, and a lot kinder than the alternative. And it’s more effective in the long run
