Todd's groom🐶❤️.
This handsome boy is called Todd. He is a rescue Shiba Inu. He came in recently and had his first full groom!. Todd has been visiting me regularly. He is a little nervous, so I've been gradually building up his confidence and adding in more to his grooms each time i see him. The end result being Todd feeling comfortable enough to let me bath and dry him. He came in with his lovely dad, Darren.
I started by gently brushing Todd through to loosen up his coat and remove the excess hair. I clipped his nails, and checked his ears were clean next. Todd was great and used to this part of the groom. Into the bath, snood on for a quick pic. This maybe Todd's first ever bath, so i wanted to make it as stressfree and enjoyable as i can. He was worried when i first started the bath and the water touched his coat, so i stopped the bath and let him settle down. After a few minutes, i tried again, Todd was more relaxed and we carried on. I did a nice shampoo massage, and then a thorough rinse off next to remove the shampoo residue, followed by a gentle towel dry. I used the blaster to remove any excess water trapped in his coat. His coat dries quite quickly but there's alot of coat to dry. I changed to the finishing dryer to work on certain areas of coat, like around the neck and face. A minimal tidy up and trim to neaten his feet and he's all done. Well done Todd!. What a brave boy! Super proud of you!
