Everyone say hello to Charlie 👋🏼

Honestly… just look at those eyes 😍

Charlie is a cocker spaniel who comes from working lines, but due to his colouring he wasn’t wanted for working life — which means he’s instead become the most adorable little family addition and I truly believe he was sent for his mum 🐶
That definitely doesn’t mean we won’t be putting some of those clever spaniel skills to good use though 👀
At the moment, we are helping with puppy visits whilst he grows a little more confidence and gets old enough to start exploring the outdoors properly and meeting some new friends 🌿
We can’t wait to watch him grow into pack life 🤎

The Friday crew were VERY spoilt after their walkies…

Post-adventure doggie sausage rolls from Life of Riley for the gang 🤎

Safe to say they went down an absolute treat and there were some very enthusiastic taste testers involved 👀

Unfortunately some of the gang’s photos are missing because the sausage rolls were apparently far too exciting to wait for a photoshoot and were immediately snaffled before I could capture them 📸😂

I think these faces say it all really! 🐾

Absolutely 🤎🐾

I saw a social media post recently from another dog walker talking about how “easy” it is to make money in this industry. The setup was simple: load a van full of dogs, drive them to an enclosed field, open the doors, and let them all charge around while the walker sat drinking coffee and scrolling on their phone.
Now, how other people run their business is up to them — it’s not my place to judge. But it did make me reflect on how many people are starting dog walking businesses with very little experience in dog behaviour, training, or managing pack dynamics, and how often the focus seems to be more about profit than the dogs themselves.
Just because dogs are in a secure field doesn’t mean they don’t need structure, guidance, and engagement. Real pack walking is so much more than simply letting dogs loose together. When you’re responsible for multiple dogs at once, you need to be switched on constantly — reading body language, managing energy levels, preventing problems before they start, and making sure every dog is having a safe and positive experience.
Dogs need mental stimulation, boundaries, interaction, and leadership — not just space to run wild while someone watches from the sidelines.
For anyone thinking of getting into pack walking, please understand this: it is not easy money. It’s hard work. It takes experience, patience, responsibility, and a solid understanding of dog behaviour and training to safely and professionally walk a pack of dogs.
The dogs deserve more than “just being let out.” They deserve someone who is truly present with them.

Just look at that gorgeous staffy smile from Beau 🐾✨

Beau is one of our regular pack adventurers and has made so many lovely friends along the way.

When I first met Beau, she had become very withdrawn, nervous and fearful whenever it became time to go out. Walks had become so overwhelming for her that she wouldn’t even leave her crate to go out, meaning she wasn’t getting the break and enrichment she needed whilst her parents were at work.

Videos in the comments to see some of our first interactions together👇🏼

With lots of patience, trust building, gentle encouragement (and of course plenty of treats), Beau slowly started to come out of her shell and we started to introduce new friends and the van to her.

Fast forward to now and she’s become such a confident little member of the pack often being one of the dogs responsible for setting off the pack zoomies 🏃🏼‍♀️💨

Watching dogs grow in confidence like this is honestly one of the most rewarding parts of our job, and I’m so incredibly proud of how far Beau has come 🤎

Not only did we finally get the van back… but Cooper also made his return to pack adventures after recovering from his operation 🌰✂️

Safe to say he had THE best time being back with his friends, charging around the woods doing zoomies like he’d never been away 🐾💨

Unfortunately his gorgeous fresh haircut didn’t survive the British weather and ended up completely soaked ☔😂

It’s so lovely to have you back, Cooper Dooper 🤎

This is the less glamorous side of being a dog walker 🤷🏽‍♀️

Quiet walking spots are amazing for off lead adventures and giving the pack freedom to explore.

Unfortunately, they’re also sometimes used by walkers, cyclists and drivers stopping for breaks… which means every now and then the dogs discover human poo before I do 🤢😭

Dogs are naturally attracted to strong scents, especially scent-driven breeds, meaning some decide to roll in it… and others unfortunately try to eat it 🙃

Either way, I’m left with the cleaning up duties!

I do my absolute best to avoid it, but dogs are often quicker than humans when there’s something “interesting” to sniff out 🐾

Say hello to Frank 👋🏼

He’s a gorgeous 1 year old Sprocker (Cocker x Springer) and an absolute dream of a boy.

When I went to meet Frank and his mum for their meet & greet, he was honestly one of the most polite boys ever.

Frank has previously walked in groups with his last dog walkers, so I had a feeling he’d fit right in… and I wasn’t wrong!

When he joined us for his first group walk, as expected, he made friends straight away 🐾

We’re so happy to have you with us, Frank! I think you’re going to love pack life 🤎

It’s been a long 4 weeks without the van…

Having less capacity for groups has meant:
🐾 longer days
🐾 extra planning
🐾 more travelling
🐾 and a lot of juggling behind the scenes

But I’m incredibly grateful to Helena from Helena's Happy Hounds - dog boarding and walking services in Barnsley for letting me borrow her car during all of this 🙏🏼

Helena has become a friend since the very early days of me starting out in dog walking, and it really does show that the majority of us in the dog industry are more than willing to help each other where we can 🤎

I took her car for a valet between walks before dropping it back home to her alongside a well deserved bottle of Prosecco 🍾😂

Very grateful for the support over the last few weeks from my clients and very much looking forward to a more settled week 🐾

Newness?! No bother 🙌🏼

This little caterpillar appearing Unleashed Dog Park might seem like a small thing, but it actually plays a really important role in what we do 🐛

Introducing dogs to unusual objects, different textures and new environments helps them to explore, build confidence and learn how to navigate things they may not come across every day.

Whether it’s walking through, putting their paws on or just having a sniff - these moments all help to develop life skills, creating dogs that are more confident, adaptable and relaxed in the world around them 🤎
