It's always nice to meet a new breed of dog and over the years we have worked with nearly 40 different breeds. Last week we were excited to meet Jessica, a lovely Jagdterrier (a German breed similar to a Patterdale), and we look forward to her coming to stay in October.
We also welcomed back Florence for a few nights stay, visited Chloe, walked Wilf, and enjoyed the last few days with our ferret friends. No rest for the wicked!

We've had a lovely couple of weeks with unexpected guests, new guests, and the return of old favourites.
Our regular visitor Bella has been for a week and we also welcomed Bonnie, a mini Australian Shepherd dog, a new breed to us, for the first time. Wilf enjoyed mid-week walks with us as usual. Nancy stayed just for one night and has enjoyed a walk round the village gala and lunch in the pub.
We also have our ferret friends here for a week's holiday, just to add a bit of variety.
We hope you enjoy looking at some pics of our latest adventures.

It has been a week of mixed emotions. We were saddened to hear of the passing of Bruce, a lovely Lab we have cared for regularly for 12 years. Our thoughts are with Paul and Janet and all the family who loved him and will miss him.
On a happier note we have had fun during Ronnie's last week with us, particularly enjoying a trip round Bondville model village. The house seems very empty after having him around for a month and we are still hoovering up his hair.
Wilf joined in for a couple of walks as usual.
It was also lovely to have little Molly back for a night, sadly without her soulmate Bobby who also passed a few weeks ago.
We love working with dogs and at times it can be very upsetting, but fortunately there are many highs and lovely memories to be made.

Well, that's another month flown by and here we are in August already!
Ronnie has enjoyed the fourth week of his holiday with us, and Wilf joined in for a couple of walks as well.
We are so lucky to have such a variety of lovely walks right on our doorstep - woods, fields, beaches and clifftops - plenty of interest for our doggy visitors. As much as we enjoyed our 27 years in Haxby, the ginnels and pavements of the village and Wigginton fields hardly compete!

Ronnie has enjoyed the company of our old friend Nancy during the third week of his stay. They have had a lovely time on the beaches at Filey and South Landing, and Wilf has joined them for walks in the woods. We've had some lovely sunshine and hope it continues.

It's been another busy but lovely week. Ronnie has enjoyed the second week of his five week stay, Bella joined him for a four night visit, and Wilf accompanied them both on three nice walks in the woods.
It is always nice to find new places to walk. Today Ronnie has explored the deserted medieval village at Wharram Percy - not a lot to see, but a very pretty spot and an interesting place to visit.
The weather has been a bit dodgy over the past week so let's hope it picks up again soon.

How time flies! Here we are nearly at the middle of July and it's almost time to put the Christmas sprouts on.
At least it has felt like summer with some lovely sunny days. At times it has been too hot for daytime walks so we have enjoyed early morning and evening strolls in the woods and on the beach, we are lucky to have such a lovely variety of options on our doorstep.
We have been busy with our regular boarders - Lex, Poppy, Wilf, Ronnie, Nancy and Bella, and here are a few more memories made:

Welcome back, it's been a while! We hope you have enjoyed the lovely Spring and are looking forward to the summer.
We enjoyed a very quiet April and were busy with boarding grandchildren instead of boarding dogs - it made a lovely change but was even more tiring!
May has been busy, with Ben, Pip, Poppy and Leo boarding, walks and day care with Wilf, Eli, Cooper and Pepper, and visits to feed out feline friend Chloe. June and July are going to be equally busy.
We have also been occupied building our display for the Flamborough Flowerpot Festival - on a dog theme of course. We hope you like our efforts.
Here's a bumper crop of pics to catch up.....

What a busy week! We have had three resident guests at different times - Martha, Poppy and Nancy; visits to feed our feline friend, Chloe; and it was also nice to see Eli and Cooper again for the first time since November.
Martha joined us on five runs in our Couch to 5k journey and really enjoyed it.
We are now going to enjoy a brief rest and a dog-free week and look forward to our next guests, Ben and Pip.
We have a bumper crop of photos to capture some of our exploits.
See you in a fortnight!

At last some sunshine and days warm enough to get the shorts out. No doubt that was just to lull us into a false sense of security before winter returns for the rest of March. But, at least it's not long now until the clocks change and there will be lighter nights for our evening walks.

We have had a lovely week with Martha and Poppy, and one day we borrowed Wilf for a lovely walk on the beach from South Landing to Danes D**e. Here are some of our memories....

Well the Hoover has been extra busy this week as we welcomed our favourite Golden Lab Named Martha for a two week stay. She has already enjoyed walks along the shoreline to Sewerby, on the clifftops at Thornwick, and in Danes D**e. She loves playing in the garden and we will certainly feel fitter by the end of her stay. We will also be selling cushions filled with all her hair!

This week we have had boarding grandchildren as well as boarding dogs, and it was lovely to have two young apprentices to help with our old friend Poppy.
Ronnie went home and we look forward to seeing him again for a longer stay in the summer. As you will see he insisted on dragging us into the Rose and Crown for a farewell drink.
