Caring for dogs can be very hard on your emotions.
We had a lovely week with Sam boarding, day care visits from Bella 2 and Pepper, and walks with Wilf.
We all know what pleasure it brings to be out in the woods, walking in the fields or to be on the beach having fun with our furry friends. But alongside this comes the heartache of losing them and this week we were saddened to hear of the passing of our lovely little friend Molly. Our thoughts are with Rob and Sue.

It has been another glorious week and another busy week.
We welcomed back for a week's holiday our old friend Sam, who we haven't seen for a couple of years. One of our regulars, the lovely Nancy, was back for another night, and we still have the five guest ferrets enjoying their stay. Wilf enjoyed a couple of hours in the garden when it was too hot for a midday walk.
June is Flowerpot Festival month here in Flamborough so we have also been busy building our display - dog themed of course! Do come to have a look!

At last, some lovely sunshine and warm weather! It's been a long time coming, long may it last!.
It has been a busy couple of weeks. Ben and Pip enjoyed their last couple of days with us, then Molly and Ted came for a night, we had visits to our feline friend Chloe, walks with Wilf, and yesterday saw the arrival of Candy, Spotty, Phoebe, Daisy and Ted, our five furry ferret friends for the first of their holidays with us. Variety is the spice of life!

This week has been Collie week; walks with Wilf, and Ben and Pip enjoying their holiday with us.
We have had lovely walks on several of our usual routes to Danes D**e, Sewerby, Thornwick and on the beaches at Brid and South Landing, but it was also nice to have a change of scenery with a trip to Scarborough for walks round Peaseholme Park and along the riverside in Forge Valley.
Coffee breaks have featured quite heavily with stops at the lovely Asquith Hall, Blu Savannah, The Clock Tower, the Beach Hut, Bondville, Seven and Thornwick cafe!. We justify it as enrichment for the dogs!

What happened to April? Suddenly we are into May, but at least we have had some lovely sunny days and we have enjoyed dry walks for the last couple of weeks.
We have enjoyed looking after Bella, Pippa and Wilf, and currently have our old friends Ben and Pip here for a holiday..... and just for a change, we have been visiting our feline friend Cloe for teatime cuddles.
We hope you enjoy our bumper catch-up of photos.

Well, I spoke too soon and we are back into long trousers, hats, gloves and winter coats as winter returned with hail, wind and very cold temperatures! Hopefully it is only a blip in the progress towards warmer weather.
Of course, we are not deterred by a bit of weather and last week we enjoyed the company of the lovely Martha for a few nights and our usual walks with Wilf. We have been to Sewerby, Filey beach, Thornwick and round the local woods for a variety of lovely walks.
We now look forward to the arrival of our old friend Bella for a few nights boarding in the coming week.
As you will see in the final photo we also do our bit for the local wildlife. These two are enjoying their nightly peanut butter sandwich supper.

At last there is a little less mud and rain and in the last couple of weeks we've had some nice sunshine instead. We have bravely taken to wearing shorts again so we hope we are not tempting fate and a lapse back into winter.
Walks with Wilf and visits from Jasper and Nancy have kept us busy. We are lucky to have so many nice places on our doorstep for walking and we enjoy sharing our trips with you.

We all know the pleasures and joy that dogs bring to our lives, but we also know that the day will come when we have to say goodbye and the sorrow and pain that brings. Sadly in the last week we have had to say goodbye to two of our beloved friends.

Firstly, we lost our granddog Lex, our son's lovely Beauceron. Then we heard that it had become time for little Poppy, one of our oldest and most regular guests, to pass over the rainbow bridge.

They leave lots of lovely memories but tears and big holes in our hearts. Our thoughts and love go to everyone who loved them both.

Here we are again, well into February with the days beginning to feel a little bit lighter, crocus and daffodils appearing and the sense that we might be nearing the beginning of the end of winter, at last!
We have enjoyed a steady start to the year with lovely walks in ice, snow, wind, fog, rain, lots of mud and the occasional burst of sunshine. Wilf, Heidi, Milo, Pippa, Ronnie and Nancy have kept us busy.
At the beginning of January we had an inspection by East Riding Council and I am pleased to report that a Five-Star rating has been confirmed for another year. It is reassuring to know that the efforts we make to provide the best of care are recognised.
We thank all our customers for their support and look forward to another busy year.

And so 2025 comes to an end! We'd like to thank all of our customers for their support over the past 12 months, it's been another busy but very enjoyable year.

We'd also like to thank all our furry friends for the fun they have given us - the dogs: Molly, Bobby, Nancy, Ronnie, Poppy, Martha, Ben, Pip, Pepper, Bella, Bella 2, Toffee, Leo, Wilf, Pippa, Jessica, Florence, Eli, Cooper, Heidi, Milo, Jack, Blue and Bonnie; - the cats: Chloe and Bill; and not forgetting four chickens and five ferrets!

Sadly in 2025 we also said goodbye to Bruce, Bobby and Jack - thank you for lovely memories.

We would like to wish you all a happy New Year and very best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2026.
