Farm Vets South West FarmVets SouthWest is a farm-animal-only veterinary practice covering Somerset and East Devon.

The practice prides itself on traditional service values, but with a modern approach, to complement the needs of today's farmers. We have an experienced team of farm vets, with expertise in the dairy sector. We’re hosting an open calf pneumonia meeting and everyone is welcome – clients and non-clients!

Join us for an informative session featuring:
✨ Presentation by Monika Ptaszynska (MSD Veterinary Technical Lead)
✨ Live demonstration of qTUS thoracic ultrasound by our vet Chiara Domaingue — the latest technique for early pneumonia detection, helping improve treatment accuracy and outcomes
✨ Presentation from David Taylor Dip.RN on calf milk replacer

Please bring the label from your milk powder for analysis on the day

🌟 Meet Rya - the newest member of our team 🌟

Rya graduated from the RVC in 2019 and has since been working as a farm vet in a mixed practice covering Dartmoor and the surrounding areas. She brings with her a strong interest in beef and sheep work, infectious disease, and is also a qualified TBAS Adviser.

Outside of work, Rya enjoys spending time in the garden and heading out to music and comedy events.

We’re excited to have her on board! If you see her around, be sure to give her a warm welcome 👋

🌟 Farewell & Thank You, Amber! 🌟

Today we say goodbye to our wonderful admin team member, Amber, as she wraps up her last day with us at FVSW.

For the past two years, Amber has been an absolute superstar who is always willing to lend a hand, support our vets, and go above and beyond for our farmers. Her hard work, kindness, and dedication have made such a positive impact on our team and the community we serve.

We’re incredibly sad to see her go, but so grateful for everything she’s brought to us here at FVSW.

Please join us in wishing Amber all the very best in her next chapter, she will be truly missed 🐮💙
