This 👏👏
Food for thought 🧐
When a dog growls at another dog, we don’t call them evil. We don’t shame them. We ask why.
What pain or insecurity is bubbling to the surface? 🤔
And yet, when a person lashes out- with hate, bitterness, or cruelty- we rarely ask the same.
But the psychology? It’s not so different.
Dogs who act “jealous” are often insecure or unsettled. They guard what they value. They lash out when they feel unsure of their place or afraid of being replaced.
People do the same.🤷♀️
Sometimes the loudest hate is just the deepest hurt, masked. Sometimes cruelty is a desperate grab at control and attention, in a world that feels unsafe🥹
It doesn’t excuse the harm- but it helps explain the why.
Whether it’s a dog snapping at a new puppy or a person spewing judgment online, the root is often the same:
“I feel like I don’t matter. I feel pushed out. I feel powerless.”
And healing starts not with punishment, but with understanding. With boundaries, and compassion. With asking what’s beneath the bark - or the bite. 🖤
