🚨 Daily Tick Alert UK Dog Walkers & Owners
⚠️ Ticks are VERY active right now across the UK especially in forests, long grass, and fields
A tick bite can transmit serious illnesses like Lyme disease, which affects both humans and dogs.
Dogs, kids… and let’s be honest… us dog walkers crawling through bushes daily 😅 are all at risk.
🔎 Check these areas after EVERY walk:
• Groin
• Underarms
• Scalp
• Behind ears
• Belly button
• Between toes (dogs especially!)
Also check leads, coats, harnesses, and your van, ticks love a free ride 🤢
⚠️ IMPORTANT Tick Removal
There’s a lot of misinformation online…
🚫 Do NOT squeeze, burn, or freeze the tick
This can actually increase the risk of infection
✅ Correct method:
Use a tick remover or fine tweezers
Grip as close to the skin as possible
Pull slowly and steadily straight out
📢 Dog walkers & owners this is your reminder
Check your dogs
Check yourself
Check your kids
Ticks are tiny… but the problems they cause aren’t 🐾
