PLEASE PLEASE READ: DO NOT SCROLL PAST πππ
Tomorrow is Duchenne Awareness Day. Our son Henry was diagnosed with DMD last year and our world has quite simply been turned upside down. There is no sugar coating this disease. Our precious boy is deteriorating. His muscles are failing. The ability to walk will be lost during his childhood making the use of a wheelchair necessary. He will then lose strength in his arms meaning a power chair will be required next. After that, his lungs and heart will fail him. The current life expectancy of a person with DMD is 27 years. There is no cure. This is the desperate situation that Henry finds himself in and so we are asking that all of our friends and family change their facebook picture to the red balloon π to try and raise awareness of this horrendous disease. We need to raise money for research and this is directly related to awareness. So again, I beg of you, please change your facebook profile picture to the red balloon for a few days, and maybe write a quick post with a picture or two, to help us spread the word. You could change my little boys future. You could save his life. I will forever be Thankful. Thanks so much for reading πβ€οΈπ
