If your puppy has started chewing shoes, furniture or anything else they can reach, don’t panic. Chewing is one of the most natural behaviours a young puppy can display.

Rather than trying to stop the behaviour completely, think about redirecting it. Make appropriate chew toys interesting, reward your puppy for choosing them and quietly remove temptation whenever possible.

You’re not trying to stop your puppy from chewing. You’re teaching them what they’re allowed to chew, and that lesson takes time.
