To Vita 🥂💕 thank you for being the most wonderful mare. It’s taken me a while to write this.
A few weeks ago I woke up to every horse persons worst nightmare. My absolute world dead in the field. An aneurysm. Something totally unavoidable. She was probably the healthiest she’d ever been. Living out in the field being fed and loved every day.
She had fetlock surgery in April to remove a small bone chip, she had gone the all the rehabbing and box rest. The hard part was done and she was enjoying being a horse living her best life relaxing in a field and getting ready to start work.
I am absolutely heartbroken. We had so much future together, she had so much intelligence and potential. It feels so unfair on both of us. She was my absolute world, anyone who knew us understood that. A small feisty little mare with the biggest heart. Yes there were moments when we disagreed but never for one minute did I feel as if we weren’t on the same team. You can’t ask for more from a mare that’s on your side - it’s honestly the best feeling in the world. Horse and rider working together as one. We’d gone through so much together and always came out the other side with respect and love for one another.
Thank you Vita for all you have taught and given me. I’m so grateful that our lives crossed and I’m devastated that we didn’t have longer together.
