Absolutely amazing!!

The Sydney funnel-web does not bluff. It raises its front legs like a tiny nightmare with boxing stance and bolt cutters for fangs.

But the nastiest detail is what happens after the first bite.

Unlike many spiders that strike once and vanish, this one can clamp on and bite again, delivering venom through fangs built like polished black hooks.

The real trouble usually comes from wandering males. During humid nights, especially after rain, they leave their burrows looking for females and accidentally wander into shoes, laundry, garages, and swimming pools.

That last part feels unfair, but it gets worse. They can survive underwater for hours by trapping air against their bodies, because apparently Australia looked at spiders and decided they needed a submarine mode.

Their venom attacks the nervous system fast, causing sweating, twitching, nausea, breathing trouble, and panic that is not exactly helped by the spider still acting offended.

The miracle is that antivenom changed the ending. Since its introduction, this little machine of bad decisions has become far less deadly to humans.

Still, respect is not optional.

Some creatures warn you with size. This one brought engineering.
