I hope that the people and animals affected by the fire yesterday at the Daler-Rowney building are ok and have been able to return to their home safely.
I’ve heard that the Police did have to force entry into a few homes so please make sure your animals are safe and can not escape, if you were affected by this. It has been recommended that you call your insurance company to arrange emergency repairs.
At the moment people backing onto the fire are being asked to keep windows closed so please consider how to keep your cats safe from venturing around there.

On a more positive note, it was lovely to see how the community came together to support those evacuated. I know a few people posted on Facebook offering rooms for people to stay in and the Jennett's Park Community Centre was opened as a place to stay overnight so a huge thank you from me to the people that helped.
