Since we now have a new dog-mobil, we went back to Hurn forest this morning. It had been 2.5 years since we had been and it was so lovely. I love that place. Rum loved it too ❤️

Rain Walkers

We walked beneath the whispering trees,
While rain tapped softly on the leaves.
The forest wore a silver veil,
And silence hummed a gentle tale.

The dogs moved close, with quiet grace,
Each pawstep soft, no need to chase.
No tugs or pulls, no hurried pace -
Just shared breath in a sacred place.

Their coats grew damp, their noses keen,
Sniffing stories lost between
The mossy roots and dripping fern,
Where deer had passed and seasons turn.

No thundered bark, no wild refrain,
Just tails that wagged beneath the rain.
Their eyes found mine as if to say:
"This is the best kind of day."

And so we wandered, side by side,
Through quiet woods where secrets hide,
Grateful hearts and muddy paws -
No need for words, no need to pause.

The rain kept time, the forest sighed,
While loyal friends walked by my side.
