We’re deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Gayatri Reksodihardjo-Lilley, Founder and Executive Director of the LINI Foundation in Indonesia.
Gayatri dedicated more than 30 years to marine conservation, founding LINI in 2008 to empower coastal communities, protect reef ecosystems, and promote sustainable aquarium fisheries. Under her leadership, the foundation became a model for community-based marine restoration and ethical aquaculture, making a lasting difference to both people and the planet.
As a long-standing supporter of LINI, we at Maidenhead Aquatics have seen firsthand the impact of Gayatri’s vision and compassion. Her work has protected fragile species like the Banggai Cardinalfish, created new livelihoods, and inspired a global community of ocean advocates. We send our deepest condolences to her family, colleagues, and all who were touched by her extraordinary commitment to the sea. Her legacy will continue to guide and inspire us.
