Dogs' paw pads are more sensitive than you might think. These tough-looking cushions are actually delicate structures that can potentially be damaged by hot weather

Healthy paws are vital for a dogs overall well being as they help absorb shock when dogs run and jump. The pads also have sweat glands that help regulate body temperature

Couldn’t be more proud of these two today 💕

It’s no secret that I work with grooming reactive dogs and I have been working with these 2 dogs for several years now . ( different owners)

They are simply smashing their grooming - appointment after appointment- it’s taken time patience and understanding to build their trust and adapt the grooming to meet their needs but now they no longer react which is awesome and a much happier experience for them 🐾💕

Chows often get a bad press in the grooming industry for being aggressive - however at The Dog House we judge every dog as the individual that they are. And Reggie was amazing 🤩

The owners have done amazingly with Reggie already introduced him to a hairdryer before coming to us which means he took it all in his stride and they took our advice of

I am horrified to say I have seen people out walking their dogs in the heat of the day in these temperatures !

Remember no dog has died from missing a walk but plenty have died from walking in high temperatures

Your dogs body temp is higher than ours to start with and it only takes 2 degrees for heat stroke to start !

I am hoping that none of my followers need to be reminded of this as we are all sensible dog owners but please share as the message is clearly not getting through - the dog has no control or say in when they have a walk they have no choice - only the owner can manage their safety and well being 💗🐾

He is now at Three Oaks Boarding Kennels. He is chipped but details no longer valid.
