Morning everyone!

Just to set the record straight before the rumour mill starts.

Yesterday I did get kicked in the head whilst at work. Got knocked out but only for a few moments. Had a little ambulance ride to Peterborough hospital, on the way there my blood pressure rocketed and my O2 says dropped so the crew phoned ahead and had a team waiting for an emergency CT scan on arrival.

Everything is fine all results clear and good. Celine and Freya met me at the hospital and sat with me until I was cleared to go home with nothing more than a headache, a bruised cheek and temple and a little black eye.

A weekend off to chill then I’ll be back at it Monday.

Thanks to everyone who was involved in getting me sorted so quickly and to everyone who has sent well wishes. I’m all good! 💙

Had an interesting job a few weeks ago. This mare presented with acute onset laminitis and along with veterinary guidance the decision was made to fit her a pair of squish pads.
This series of pictures shows the process of trimming the feet to the X-rays provided by the vet. Preparation of the hoof to receive the glue and application of the squish pad shoes.

As you can see there are only pictures once the first foot was completed as she was in a lot of discomfort prior to being treated, however the video at the end will show you how well she reacted to having these shoes fitted and walking far far more comfortably.

Sometimes this is all it takes! Lovely sense of accomplishment hearing from happy customers!

Had a great day today at the More Aid hoof care clinic.
Brushing up on my knowledge of some of the modern materials available on the market, focusing on glue on shoes and products to increase comfort levels of your 4 legged friends without the need for conventional shoes.

2024 done!

Thank you all for this year, aware it’s been a challenge for me getting back in the swing of it. Learning to walk again let alone shoe!

I have just finished the last trims of the year for me, now heading off up to the dales for Christmas with my parents, then have Ella for a full week over the new year.

As with every year, I will have the phone near by, but please only send a text if you need to contact me.

Practising what I preach! 20.45pm hunting for the wife’s horses shoe!

Please always try to find your lost shoes, not to make my life easier but for your horses safety! An up turned shoe can cause serious injury if it is stood on or even rolled on in the field.
