At The dog walkers tale success isn’t just about the social media likes. Although we won’t lie, they do appreciate them, it’s helps us get seen and we love it when you engage with us!!
But what truly matters to us is the experience of our clients and their pets.

The 3am alarm was worth it this morning 🥱

We headed to Lulworth Cove to catch the sunrise and was lucky enough to have the view to ourselves 🥰
Dottie thought it was the best adventure!
She enjoyed a long walk, met some cows, had a swim (sneaked in a few treats after breakfast!).
It was Such a beautiful way to start the day 🌅

If you’ve never watched the sunrise there, I highly recommend it!🐾🐶

Why 4 is My Magic Number 🐾

People often ask me, “Why do you walk a maximum of 4 dogs on a group walk?”

Well, for me, it’s simple!

With just 4 dogs, I can give each one the attention, guidance, and care they deserve. It’s not about cramming as many leads into my hands as possible, it’s about safety, control, and making the walk a calm, happy experience for everyone (including me!).

I carefully match each group based on temperament, energy levels, and breed. That way, every dog is surrounded by friends they feel comfortable with and can enjoy the activities they love, whether that’s playing, sniffing, retrieving, chasing, or just taking in the world at their own pace.

Smaller groups also allow me to focus on any training needs, reinforce good manners, and make sure no one is picking up unwanted habits while we’re out. Every dog is supervised, engaged, and happy and you get to come home to a calm, content pup!

I’ve learned that a great walk isn’t about numbers, it’s about connection. And for me, 4 is the perfect number to make that happen. 🐶

🐾 Happy National Spoil Your Dog Day! 🐾

Today is 🌟 🐕

Whilst i believe our dogs should be spoilt every single day (we're sure you agree 👀), today is the perfect excuse to spoil your dog!

✨ I knew about enrichment… before I even knew the word for it. ✨

It all started 30 years ago with a Shetland pony.
A very special Shetland pony called Monty.

I was 10 when my parents finally gave in and got me a pony.
Monty arrived as a 15 month old c**t with minimal handling.
When I say he was cheeky, that’s an understatement!
The first few months were challenging to say the least but I never gave up.

Now, you might ask, what were my parents thinking?
But they knew exactly what they were doing.
They could have bought me a bombproof, schoolmaster type… but I’m thankful they didn’t.

Here’s where the enrichment came in…
Because he was so young, Monty couldn’t be ridden but that didn’t mean he couldn’t learn.

So our journey began:
•Halter training and human desensitisation
•Slow feeders and treat balls
•Walks in-hand, exploring the big wide world beyond the stable
•Teaching him tricks
•Stepping over poles, splashing through water, crunching over plastic bags

Anything to keep his mind engaged and build his confidence.

Over three years, all that work paid off.
At 13, I backed him and he was ready.
Monty went on to a riding school, teaching countless children to ride.
He was a little star.

But here’s the thing Monty didn’t just learn from me, I learned from him.
He taught me patience, creativity, problem solving, and how to see the world through an animal’s eyes.
Without realising it, that little Shetland pony was giving me the tools I still use every day in my work with dogs.

Back then I called it keeping Monty happy.
Now I know… it was enrichment all along.

Because enrichment isn’t about fancy equipment or trends it’s about giving an animal what they need to truly thrive.

A huge Happy 2nd Birthday to Maverick
aka Mavie Moo 😂

Mav is a true pro at finding the muddiest puddles, no matter how hard I try to stop him! Some walks have definitely ended with a bath before heading home… 😅

But I wouldn’t change a thing about him, he’s an amazing dog and I hope he has the best day ever! 💙🐾

A few fun facts about Yorkies:

🐾They were originally bred as rat hunters (hard to believe when you see those sweet faces!).
🐾They’re hypoallergenic well, as close as it gets! Their silky coat is hair not fur and it’s low shedding and they produce less dander!
🐾They only come in one classic color combo: black and brown. Stylish pretty little things!

Whether you’ve got a Yorkie or just love them, today’s the perfect excuse for some extra cuteness. 💕🐶
