I’ve been pushing the scent detection side of my business recently, but my day to day work and true passion is still very much about helping owners and their dogs with real-world training and behaviour challenges (incorporating Scent work).

If you’re struggling with things like:
• Recall around distractions
• Pulling on the lead
• Poor focus in stimulating environments
• Problem barking
• Difficulty settling

You’re not alone, and it’s rarely about “bad behaviour”. These patterns usually have clear underlying causes.

I work 1:1 with dogs and their owners to understand why behaviour is happening and to put ethical, force free training plans in place that actually fit into everyday life. As a certified professional, sessions are structured, evidence-led, and focused on long term change, not quick fixes.

Sessions are usually £50 per hour, but for packages of 5 or more booked throughout February I'm offering 15% OFF! This reduces each session to £42.50, offering EXCELLENT value for professional training focused on lasting results.

Diary space is limited and these slots WILL fill quickly!

Is your dog self employed? 🤔

Are you frustrated by your dog pulling you on the lead towards every smell?!

Perhaps they have great recall, until they pick up the scent of an animal?

Does your dog’s nose seem to get them into trouble?

Your dog is probably trying to tell you something! Dogs don’t experience the world the way we do. They navigate it primarily through their noses. When puppies are born, with their eyes closed, the very first thing they do is use their seeking system to find their mother and milk. Thats a need to survive and that drive never disappears.

Sniffing isn’t the problem, it's that you aren't currently their employer!

When dogs are given a safe, structured outlet to use their nose, everything else often gets easier. Focus improves. Pulling reduces. Confidence grows and the YOU become the provider and your dog can rely on you to pay them well.

If you’d like to learn how to harness your dog’s natural scenting ability rather than fight it, our Scent Detection Taster Workshop is a great place to start.

In our scent detection classes we’ve been concentrating on reinforcers and motivation. What actually makes dogs want to work.
Toys and environmental rewards often produce the strongest drive, no argument there. But food is still a powerful tool when it actually matters to the dog.

If you’re still training with boring kibble, it’s worth pausing. What does your dog genuinely get excited about? What would they choose?

Big thanks to for providing high quality training treats for our sessions this week. Real value, real engagement, cleaner learning.

If you like transparency, you can compare Sabre’s nutritional breakdown on allaboutdogfood website, which is always a great resource.

✨ Happy New Year ✨

I’ve been a little quieter on social media recently. That was intentional. I took some well-earned rest over Christmas and New Year, and it was very much needed.
Before anything else, a huge congratulations to the graduates of our 6-week Scent Detection course. The progress across this group has been outstanding. I’m really looking forward to welcoming you all back to BOSC on Monday as we continue your learning for another six weeks.

A warm welcome too to our new attendees starting on Tuesday. You’re about to begin an incredible journey into the world of scent detection, and I can’t wait to support you.
2025 was a full year, with plenty of highs and some real challenges around health and life. Despite that, I’ve had the privilege of helping many dogs and guardians through training and behaviour work. I haven’t always had the capacity to pause and celebrate those successes publicly, so this post is for all of you. Every step forward matters.

I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. I do believe in achievable progress, taken at a pace that is fair on dogs and humans alike. That’s exactly how I’ll continue to work, while advocating for training and behaviour that is ethical, evidence-based, and genuinely effective.

A quick reminder that alongside scent detection, I’m also a highly accredited training professional offering 1:1 training and behavioural support, tailored to you and your dog. My diary for 2026 is already filling, but I do still have some availability.

If you’d like to work together, let’s set realistic goals and give both you and your dog the best possible start to the year.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me over the past year. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.
