🐾💷 WHAT DOES £35 A NIGHT FOR DOG BOARDING ACTUALLY MEAN❓️ 💷🐾

I thought I’d break down my boarding prices because it’s easy to look at £35 per night and think, “That’s good money❗️ ” 💰

But home boarding is so much more than simply having a dog stay in your home 🏡🐶

💷 1 dog — £35 per night
➡️ £35 per 24 hours
➡️ Approximately £1.46 per hour before expenses❗️

🐶🐶 2 dogs — £52.50 per night
➡️ Approximately £2.19 per hour before expenses❗️

🐶🐶🐶 3 dogs — £70 per night
➡️ Approximately £2.92 per hour before expenses❗️

And when people hear “overnight boarding”, they may think that means the dogs go to sleep and we get a full night's sleep too… 😴

Unfortunately, that isn't always the case!❗️🫣

Some dogs can take a few days to fully settle, and may wake during the night, pace, bark, whine or need reassurance. This can mean broken sleep for us for several nights 🥱☕️

So, from that income, I still have to cover:

🧼 Cleaning & laundry
🧴 Cleaning products
💡 Heating, electricity & water
🍖 Food and treats (where provided)
🚗 Transport and walks
🛡️ Insurance
📋 Licensing and business costs
🏡 Wear and tear on my home
💷 Tax and National Insurance
⏰ Plus the time, care and responsibility involved 24 hours a day

So when you look at the headline price, remember that £35 is not £35 profit.

Home boarding is a lovely job and I absolutely adore what I do 🥰🐾 But it is also a real business, with real costs and a huge amount of time, responsibility and commitment involved ❤️

🐾 Home-from-home care comes with much more than just a bed for the night! 🐾💗

A quick heads up before holiday drop-offs 🐾

If your girl is due in season while she’s with a sitter, boarder, or friend with dogs — please let us know in advance.

Being in season isn’t just “messy”. It means:

Unplanned litters if she’s around male dog

Stress for all the dogs in the house

Extra management — separate walks, no dog parks, constant supervision, extra bedding washes.

We love caring for your dogs, and we want it to be safe and calm for everyone.
If there’s even a chance she’ll come into season while she’s with us, let’s have a plan together before you go.

Check dates: Seasons are roughly every 6 months and last ∼3 weeks

What to send: Doggy nappies, wipes, washable bedding

Plan B: Have a backup if the boarder can’t take a dog in season.

Bruce arrived at the weekend and settled straight into being a goof ball. We love this boy.
Today has been all about getting the most fun from our walks.
