LONG POST!
Please meet Camila, soon to be our Daphne 🥰 We are rescuing her from a large animal shelter in North Macedonia. Animal cruelty is fife where she was born, and unfortunately she didn't escape this, she has not had the best start in life. She was rescued, along with her Mum and two siblings, tied to a radiator by her leg in a dark, dirty basement. But she is now safe and will soon travel to the UK and be the newest member of our Poodle family!
I have been in contact with the rescue all this last week, feel like I've been through the toughest interviews ever! But for good reason. This charity is so dedicated to their dogs and other animals. They have over 500 dogs in their care, many of them brought in from the streets and unable to be rehomed, but they don't give up on them, the dogs will be safe for the rest of their lives.
I have been sent a list of items that I can return with the drivers that will deliver Daphne, things that will greatly help the centre. If anyone local to me in Bolton le Sands can spare any of these items, I will be happy to collect them. They will be needed for around the 13th August. It would mean so much to our rescue — and especially to our long-term residents — if you could send useful items back with the transport van for our dogs.
🐾 Items we really need:
Large towels
Blankets (NO duvets — dogs can swallow the filling, which is dangerous)
Clean used or new items
Collars, leads & slip leads
Dog beds
Crates
Toys & treats
Metal food & water bowls
Small tins of dog food
💊 Medical & care items (very helpful):
Vitamins & supplements
Probiotic pastes
Spot-on flea treatments
Flea collars
🚫 Due to customs regulations, bags of kibble are NOT allowed.
