While Millie hopefully will be back with us until next week, we’ve already started bonding her four bunnies — Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton tail, and Wallace — with Hazel. When Hazel first arrived, we arranged it so she could see the group next door through a window, so she wouldn’t feel lonely. Over this time, she’s been interacting with them, and she seems especially fond of Wallace.

Yesterday, we opened the gate into her pen — everything is kept completely neutral at this stage. We had a short burst of chasing at first, which we quickly stopped by distracting them with treats. By last night, they were very calm and peaceful together. Today has gone really well too; they’ve mostly been ignoring each other, which is another great sign that the bonding is going perfectly. Our bonding methods are very gentle and stress free , also please note they are fully supervised.

What a wonderful, unexpected blessing for Anne North! 🐹💛

What an incredible turn of events—just four weeks ago, Anne welcomed Poppy into her home to live with Chive, only for him to pass away just three days later. It must have been such a sad time, so to wake up to this beautiful surprise is just amazing. Now she has a ready-made little quartet to love and care for!

It’s always so special remembering how unique guinea pigs are—born fully furred, eyes open, and ready to tuck into food almost straight away. These little wheakers have landed in the perfect place, and I know they’re going to bring so much joy. Such a lovely story of new life bringing light after loss.

It’s actually really common for pairs that bonded quickly to have a “falling out” later on, especially with their backgrounds: Bo was grieving and likely found comfort in Safi right away, while Safi (coming from BARC rescue) probably craved security too. That early bond was strong, but as they settled in and felt safer, their real personalities and boundaries came out—sometimes that leads to squabbles as they work out their hierarchy and space.

The fact that they bonded so successfully before is the best sign—they do have that connection, this was just a bump in the road. Now that they’re reintroduced and back together, just keep an eye on their body language: happy signs are grooming each other, snuggling, eating side-by-side; if you see chasing, nipping or lunging, give them a little space but don’t separate unless someone’s getting hurt , we are supervising currently 24/7. They seem to have worked it out however Safi is camera shy .

🐰 A Very Special Welcome to Hazel!

We have had sweet Hazel staying with us here at Quaintways for some time now, originally placed with us via social services. Today is such a happy day — Hazel has officially been signed over to us, and she is here to stay! 🎉 We are absolutely thrilled to have her as a permanent part of our family. Welcome home, lovely Hazel 💛

She will be joining Millie’s wonderful group, living happily alongside Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and Wallace Benjamin — we know she will be very settled and loved among them all.

A huge thank you to Kathy at Blue Cross, who went above and beyond to source all the different foods Hazel has been used to. This means we can do a slow, gentle mixed feeding change-over, helping her settle in comfortably and without any tummy upsets. We really appreciate that help!

Here’s to a long, happy, and loved life for Hazel with us — she deserves every bit of happiness coming her way. 🥕🌿
PS every one it’s official Millie has more bunnies than I do, when she comes home hopefully next week .

🐇 Tink & Earl’s Success Story

Tink and Earl joined us here at Quaintways for their bonding journey, and while they got off to a bit of a rocky start with some initial bonding challenges, we are so happy to share that they went home firm friends! 🎉

When Earl arrived, we noticed he had lost some weight and was in slightly poorer condition than he should have been . This added an extra layer of complexity to their stay — balancing the careful process of bonding with the need to get vital nutrition and extra feed into him was no easy task. It required constant monitoring, patience, and a lot of care, as ensuring he ate well while settling into the new environment and relationship was quite the challenge.

But here at Quaintways, we always go the extra mile and try our absolute best for every bunny in our care. We adapted their routine, offered extra nutritional support, and adjusted our bonding methods to suit Earl’s needs, never giving up on them.

We are so proud of how far they have come. Seeing them leave as a happy, bonded pair — with Earl looking much brighter and doing so much better — makes every bit of effort worth it. Wishing Tink and Earl a wonderful life together at home! 💛

Teddy & Lola – Bonding Success! 🤍

These two were such an interesting pair to work with! Lola was so confident from day one, and was 100% convinced she had the upper hand over poor Teddy — she definitely made sure he knew she was the boss! 😂

It was lovely watching them settle and work through their little differences, and they absolutely got there in the end. They’ve turned into the most handsome, happy couple, and their bond is just lovely to see.

💔 In loving memory of beautiful Peter

Our sweet Peter passed away overnight, and our whole family is feeling his loss today.

He was the most gorgeous Rex bunny: gentle, friendly, always happy, and never far away from his favourite food! 🥕 He and his friend came to join us, and fitted right in, bonding perfectly with the rest of our bunnies in no time.

Peaches, our wonderful chief bunny, stayed right by his side at the end. She loves every member of her bunny family deeply, and today all of them are feeling quiet and sad, missing their friend.

Sleep well precious Peter — you brought so much joy, and you will always be part of our Quaintways family 🐰🤍

Owie and Snow – Bonding Success! 🐰

These two lovely bunnies came to us just to finish off their bonding – and it was such a smooth, easy process! 🥰

Thanks to their owner, who put in so much time and care with slow, gradual pre‑bonding preparation at home, all the work we usually do at the very start of a bond was already done before they arrived. That meant our job was simple: we just supported their growing bond, observed their interactions, and made sure everything stayed happy and relaxed.

They arrived Wednesday evening and were happily settled enough to go home this afternoon, with a fully stable, loving bond. It’s such a brilliant example of how taking things slow and steady at home sets rabbits up for success! 🧡

After 8 days of careful, slow bonding, Nibbles and Biscuit have gone home together! These two boys started off with quite the attitude—they were determined to fight constantly—but with structured, controlled bonding, we stopped that cycle completely. Over time, they learned to trust one another and grew to genuinely like each other.”

✨ A Beautiful Success Story! ✨

These two went home earlier today — happily bonded and doing wonderfully! 🐇💞

We introduced them slowly, using our trusted “dating method” — giving them time to meet, get used to one another, and build trust at their own gentle pace. Once they showed they were comfortable, we gradually moved to the 24‑hour living‑together method, letting them settle fully before their big day.

Now they are safely home together, happy, relaxed, and already side‑by‑side — proof that patience, respect for their pace, and careful introduction works perfectly every time.

It brings us so much joy to see them begin their new life as a loving pair! 💛
