Did you know that short haired dogs also benefit from regular trips to a professional groomer? This gorgeous Dogue de Bordeaux had her first visit with us today and I wanted to have a chat about the benefits of professional grooms!
🐾 Health monitoring - a groomer touches your dog nose to tail, and we're more likely to spot changes in your dog's health over time. While we can't diagnose anything medical, we will always bring new lumps or other changes to your attention and recommend a vet visit
🐾 General handling - while we're speaking of vets, being handled by a stranger regularly will simply make your dog more used to it! This could make vet check ups much easier, as your dog isn't completely overwhelmed by all the new things going on
🐾 And the biggest of them all - all that shedding hair is our problem rather than you having to hoover your house floor to ceiling during shedding season 😉
We strongly recommend any dog starting their grooming journey as soon as they're allowed outside after puppy jabs - picking up a small 10kg puppy and placing them in the bath is much easier than a fully grown adult 😂
