Today our Bruno turns 9 🥹❤️🐾
And it feels like the perfect time to tell the story of how this boy became the driving force behind Seaview Dog Meadow.
Bruno has always had an insanely high prey drive, when it comes to other dogs, he isn’t a dog who can just happily share open spaces and hope for the best, dogs running towards him, will cause a reaction.
I know how valuable it is to be able to unclip the lead and not have to be scanning the horizon for anything that could be chased, watching out for any other dogs, dealing with the out of control dogs who run at you while the owner shouts "It's ok, he's friendly"
And with that Seaview Dog Meadow became an idea ❤️
All because of one very particular, very prey driven, dog reactive little dog Seaview became a safe space for so many others.
For the reactive dogs
The prey driven dog
The nervous dogs
The dogs with zero recall
The escape artists
The elderly dogs
The puppies
The dogs who can't safely be off lead anywhere else
And the owners who just want some quiet time where they don't have to be on high alert.
Bruno will never know that he's the reason all of this exists.
He'll never know how many dogs have been able to run freely because of him, or how many owners have been able to relax and enjoy their dog without worrying about somebody else's dog suddenly appearing.
To him, it's just his field 😂❤️
But to me, Seaview will always have a little bit of Bruno at the heart of it.
Happy 9th birthday to the original Seaview boy 🥹🐾❤️
The dog who needed his own safe space and ended up creating one for everybody else ❤️
