Luna has been needing done for a while so l took the opportunity when someone didn’t turn up.

Toes can be easy to do if the dog is cooperative.
Done regularly it can prevent sweat, dampness, grit and knots which,in turn, can cause discomfort, smell, tenderness, inflammation and cysts which ,in turn, can cause continual pain, inability to walk properly and vet bills.

If you hold paws gently, massage lightly and get to that place where the dog trusts you, it is easy to remove hair from paws.

If you wait till the dog desperately needs them done it will definitely be more difficult to do. There could be grass seed penetrating the skin or a ball of grit and sweaty lumps of hair causing pain.
The dog may jump around and as it struggles to free itself, there is a possibility of being accidentally nipped with the scissors which will make things even worse.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year lots of love to all my lovely customers, friends and precious fur babies.

An update

Hoping that everyone is keeping well and safe.
Apologies for not posting pictures or videos recently, page not cooperating and please be aware messages are not appearing in the inbox on the business page, l have to switch accounts to get them - don’t know why its not working, hopefully I’ll work it out eventually.
Apologies to customers for having to cancel your dogs during November due to back trouble - possibly the attempt to catch up after the 1st lockdown which involved me working all day spending a lot more time stooped over the bath, guidelines require immediate bathing even on very overgrown dogs.
The MRI showed 2 disc bulges which have now improved greatly with rest and painkillers - now been able to do without them. Many thanks to Allison ( clip and snip) for helping me out.
I haven’t worked in January for a few years now for several reasons so l haven’t had to worry at the mo about whether l should be working or not during this latest lockdown. Was hoping by February the government restrictions would be eased but l think it’s going to be a while.
This lockdown, government guidelines has mentioned dog grooming being permissible as a welfare issue, so here is the position as l see it.

At the moment, it seems groomers are allowed to groom only for welfare reasons during lockdown and people are only allowed to travel for essential purposes so given that l can’t judge over the phone if a dog is in desperate need of a haircut, it will be up to the owner to decide whether the dog needs a haircut for welfare reasons.
l consider a dog with anything that causes discomfort or irritation a good enough reason to be a welfare issue and it’s always better to avoid getting to that stage but l also want people to be very cautious about this deadly virus and take the government advice seriously - taking care of yourself means taking care of everyone.
I can give advice on the phone and send a video to assist anyone self isolating or just being responsibly careful.
If you decide there is nothing you can do yourself to alleviate the dog and you feel it can’t wait I am happy to do my customers dogs so long as they follow the guidelines that are there to keep us safe. This time round , transmission of the virus is more likely so l will have to insist that people are more strictly keeping to the rules and will explain why where necessary.
Protect yourself with gloves/ sanitizer coming through the door.
Please, it is essential to wear a mask.
The collar and lead must both be taken off by the owner and taken away - this is to avoid anyone else handling it… some people have found it difficult to remove a collar with a mask on so perhaps a slip lead would make it easier?
There is a crate between the doors. The owner should try to put the dog into this crate, if the dog is too scared of the crate there is an alternative but please be aware of maintaining the required distance.
Please bring correct fee as this avoids handling money.

Thank you x
