Someone's happy to see the sunshine 🐶☀️😂

Sunny days are such a novelty in Scotland we tend to get a bit over excited when their here lol so Spook just asked me to remind you of afew tips to help your furry friends enjoy today safely 🐾

🐶 Even if you get the puppy dog eyes please don't go walking unless it is really early or at night to miss the mid day heat.

🐶 Before walking check the pavement is cool enough, place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds, if it's too hot for you, then it's too hot for your pup.

🐶 Keep your dogs in the shade! All dogs are at risk of heat stroke. Some signs to look out for are excessive panting, seizures, vomiting, and diarrhoea

🐶 Short coated dogs are more at risk of being burnt! Long hair/double coat dogs are genetically designed that way to keep them cool and to act as a barrier from the sun. Dogs with short coats are more exposed to the sun and can get burnt and feel the heat. So please apply dog safe sun cream - and humans don't forget yours too 🔥

🐶 This should be an obvious one but DONT leave your dog in the car!!

Afew ideas to keep your pup cool are...
🐾 Providing lots of shade
🐾 Cool mats
🐾 Lots of fresh drinking water.

🐩 and of course make sure you are up to date with your grooming! A well kept, groomed dog's coat will be all brushed out and maintained so it can do its job and keep them cool.
