๐ ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐ณ๐๐น ๐๐ผ๐๐๐ถ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐!
Lottie's owners brought her in on Monday, when she was having problems passing one of her puppies. She had already successfully given birth to three by this point but the next one was not in the correct position. But our vet Alice was able to reposition the puppy in the birth canal and assist her delivery and out popped number four!
Alice then took an x-ray to know how many pups we still had left to come. She stayed with her to pass the rest as Lottie had become too tired and her muscles couldnโt push any more, so she was given some medication over the next few hours to help her along the way. The last pup was also stuck, and Alice was again able to help her out.
In the end, eight gorgeous pups were delivered successfully, all healthy and feeding straight away.
Alice has since had an update from the owners to say that Lottie and pups are doing really, and Lottie is concentrating on getting some well deserved rest!
This was very nearly a c-section, in fact the team were gearing up in readiness, but Alice managed to successfully get her through with medical management and some assistance. A late night for all, but well worth it!
