Today is Rescue Dog Day, why don't you send us some happy ending photos of your rescue dogs to raise our spirits.
It's been a tough, very busy few weeks with a lot of very poorly dogs.
See below for why-

🚨 Important Vaccination Reminder – Protect Your Dog from Parvovirus 🚨

We’ve recently seen an increase in parvovirus cases at the practice, and we want to remind all pet owners how serious and dangerous this disease can be.

🦠 Parvovirus is:
• Highly contagious and potentially fatal, especially for puppies, though dogs of any age can be affected.
• Spread through faeces and can survive in the environment for months—even years.
• Extremely resistant and not killed by regular disinfectants.

⚠️ Symptoms to watch for include:
• Foul-smelling bloody diarrhoea
• Vomiting
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite (anorexia)

We can perform a rapid in-house test for a fast diagnosis if your dog is showing symptoms.

💉 The good news? Vaccination is highly effective at protecting your dog. It either prevents infection or greatly reduces the severity of the illness.

If your dog is overdue for their vaccines, please contact us ASAP. Let’s work together to keep all our pets safe. ❤️🐾

It’s National Receptionists Day!
Today, we want to give a huge shoutout to our incredible receptionist team.

Through every phone call, every client question, and especially during the recent transition to our new computer system—you’ve handled it all with grace, patience, and professionalism.

You are the calming voices on the front line, always ready to help our clients with compassion and care.

Thank you for everything you do. We truly appreciate you, today and every day!

28/04/2025

We are changing our computer system over the next few days. This means that everything will take a little longer and there may be more people around than usual as the trainers support our team. Please bear with us, we will get there!

25/03/2025

Just to let you know our phone system is now working correctly, thankyou for your patience, we are working through a backlog of return calls, but will hopefully be there by the end of the day.

25/03/2025

Good morning, just a phone update. The National outage effecting Focus communications continues. Our phone line continues to be diverted to a mobile, but this means we only have one line. If you can, please email non urgent enquiries and repeat prescription orders to [email protected]
Thanks again for your patience

24/03/2025

We are currently experiencing problems with our phones, sorry the line keeps intermittently dropping out it has been reported, thanks for your patience.

Merry Christmas.

May I just say how incredibly generous you have all been with gifts for all the staff, we are all suitably stuffed and will be for some time !

It has been a very challenging year, a roller coaster year in fact with some amazing highs with new staff joining the team, unfortunately losing some too, to bigger and better or different things. Then we have had the return of old friends Carlos and Yas as locums helping out which has been amazing.

The lows have been very low though. Too many old friends have passed away leaving gaping holes in our lives, patients and our own furbabies will be remembered always.

As most of you know we are trying to gain permission to change the jubilee pub to our new much bigger home but red tape has slowed things up and as yet we have no decision from the land owners.

Looking forward to the start of 2025 we have three vet students from UCLAN coming, full of enthusiasm and eager to learn.

I hope all our lovely clients and their precious fur babies have a healthy and peaceful festive period, stay safe and warm.

And finally to my work family ( as well as my actual family) thank you all for all your incredible efforts this year ( and for putting up with me!) , you really do deserve the best Christmas and New Year.

We have had this lovely cat brought into us by two members of the public who were worried for her safety as she was rolling around the Esso garage on Bispham Road near the roundabouts. The cat is obviously owned as a collar is present however there is no microchip which is now a legal requirement.
If you think this is your cat then please contact the practice on 01253 357380, proof of ownership will be required🐱🐾
