Time for a patient update!

Hattie the Poodle was the first ever patient to be treated at SVS when we opened our doors back in August. She had been lame as a result of cranial cruciate ligament disease for several weeks prior to visiting Darren, our specialist surgeon, who set her on the road to recovery after performing a TPLO (tibial plateau levelling osteotomy) procedure.

We are now thrilled to report that she is back on top form. Her owners report that she can run as fast as ever before and is completely back to her former happy self. Hearing such positive feedback about our patients makes all the work and effort worthwhile. We hope Hattie continues to enjoy the full use of her knees for many years to come!

Mayank and Ioannis will be combining forces to discuss the best medical approaches to the management of diabetic dogs and the role of the ophthalmologist in treating diabetic cataracts.

At Stansted Veterinary Specialists we regularly collaborate with the team at Vet Eye Care whenever our patients need the specialist attention of an ophthalmologist. This reciprocal relationship means that patients visiting either clinic have access to true multidisciplinary care.

Visit our clinic for this free CPD event on the 11th November to meet our teams and have the opportunity to discuss all your unanswered questions regarding diabetes in dogs.

Arrive from 7pm for food and refreshments provided courtesy of our kind sponsors at Samaxia.

The lecture will run from approximately 7:30-9.30pm with a short interval break halfway.

Samaxia are a UK-based family owned company, providing pet healthcare products throughout the UK. They specialise in bringing to market the best non-prescription pet health products that they can find - with a mission to provide affordable pet health solutions that promote the wellbeing of pets across the UK.

Ragnar the Leonberger came in today needing our help for a recurrent swelling under his neck. Sometimes the biggest patients have the smallest problems. All that trouble from a pesky little grass awn. Thankfully he managed to avoid the surgeons knife after our specialist radiologist managed to extract the foreign body in a minimally-invasive manner under ultrasound guidance alone. A satisfying outcome for both Ragnar and our radiologist Daniel.

Thank you Helena and Danni for your thoughtful card and kind comments. Everything is a team effort at SVS and it is nice to know that our teamwork is appreciated!

Willis came into the hospital for treatment of an immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia (IMHA) under the care of our internal medicine specialist Mayank. After immunosuppressive treatment and a couple of blood transfusions, Willis was starting to feel his happy playful self once again - the video speaks for itself!
