Another wonderful busy day spent doing what dogs do best – exploring the world at their own pace.

Today has been all about following scents, investigating every interesting patch of grass, balancing on natural obstacles, and enjoying the freedom to move, sniff and discover. No rush, no pressure – just allowing each pup to engage with their environment in a way that feels natural to them.

Watching their confidence grow as they navigate different terrain, make their own choices and interact with their friends never gets old. It’s these simple moments that provide so much enrichment for both body and mind.

Sometimes the most meaningful adventures aren’t the biggest ones – they’re the ones led by the dogs themselves. 🐾💛

A little insight into life as a home boarder...

People often say, "You just look after dogs."

And yes, we do. But we also take full responsibility for someone's beloved family member 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

While many people are heading out for spontaneous dinners, weekends away, birthday parties or last-minute plans, we're often staying home because we have dogs relying on us.

This weekend, for example, I'll be missing a family members 30th birthday celebration because our home is full of boarding dogs. Not because I have to, but because that's the commitment I made when their owners entrusted them to my care.

Being a home boarder means every holiday, every family event, every night away and every social occasion has to be planned with military precision, often months or even a year in advance. There is no calling in sick, no clocking off at 5pm, and no handing over responsibility until each dog is safely back home with their family.

Would I change it? Not for the world.

I absolutely love what I do, and being trusted with your dogs is a privilege I never take for granted.

But it's worth remembering that when you pay for quality, licensed home boarding, you're not simply paying for somewhere for your dog to sleep.

You're paying for experience, responsibility, peace of mind, and someone who has chosen to put your dog's needs ahead of their own plans.

And that's why good home boarding isn't cheap. ❤️🐾

The pups would like to lodge an official complaint… 🐾😂

After spending the last few days perfecting their paddling pool technique, mastering the art of shady snoozing, and generally behaving like Mediterranean holidaymakers, someone has gone and turned the temperature down! 🍃☁️

Not that they’re complaining for long…

Today’s fresher conditions have brought a renewed spring in their step, extra enthusiasm for exploring, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors with their pals 🌿🐕

Sometimes the best enrichment isn’t a new toy or activity – it’s simply a change in the weather. New scents, different conditions, and a whole fresh set of adventures to discover.

Topsy-turvy days at SuPaw Nanny ☀️🔄🐾

When the temperatures soar, we simply flip the routine backwards and work with the weather rather than against it 💛

That means early adventures before the heat builds, shady chill zones, paddling pools, cool indoor spaces, frozen treats, and lots of relaxed social time once the sun is at its strongest 🌿💦

The dogs still get everything they need – enrichment, companionship, movement, exploration, and fun – just in a slightly different order 🐶✨

Honestly, some of them seem to think paddling pool season is the greatest thing that’s ever happened 😂

Hot weather management has been part of life at SuPaw Nanny since our very first dog joined us back in 2012, and we’ll always continue adapting routines to keep everybody safe, comfortable, and happy ☀️🐾

☀️🐾 HOT WEATHER AT SUPAW NANNY 🐾☀️

We may have just experienced the hottest May bank holiday on record… but our hot weather policies aren’t something we’ve suddenly introduced because of one sunny weekend 🌡️

These procedures have been part of SuPaw Nanny since the very first dog joined us back in 2012 💛

Over the years we’ve continually adapted and invested in ways to keep dogs safe, comfortable and happy during warmer weather – from shaded spaces and cool indoor areas to paddling pools, calm enrichment sessions and carefully managed routines.

At SuPaw Nanny, safety always comes before sticking rigidly to a routine. That means on particularly hot days we may adjust plans at our discretion if we feel temperatures, humidity or transport conditions aren’t suitable for woodland adventures or group travel.

And honestly… most of the pups are more than happy swapping muddy woodland zoomies for paddling pool parties and garden lounging with their friends anyway 😂💦

Being fully licensed means we take welfare responsibilities seriously all year round – not just when temperatures hit the headlines ☀️🐶
