We are delighted to share some exciting news with you all!

After nearly 15 years working as a vet at the practice, Sarah has now become a partner.

This new chapter follows the retirement of Lloyd Jones, who has dedicated so many years to the practice as both a vet and partner. We are incredibly grateful for everything he has contributed and wish him a long and happy retirement.

Along with exisiting partner Elliott, Sarah is really looking forward to continuing to grow and develop the practice together.
This practice means a great deal to all of us โ€” from the wonderful clients and their animals, to the unique rural community we serve. Providing the services of an independent mixed veterinary practice is something we are passionate about, and we feel very fortunate to continue that journey as a team.

Thank you to all of our clients for your ongoing trust and support โ€” it truly means a lot.

๐ŸŒŸWelcome Wednesday!

Weโ€™re excited to introduce one of our newly qualified nurses Kristie, who joined the team in October 2025 after qualifying in March 2025 after doing an apprenticeship in Cardiff. She is here to cover for our nurse Kate who is off on maternity leave.

She is enjoying all aspects of nursing and is passionate about developing her clinical skills within the team.

Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, travelling, and live music โ€” and is kept busy by her Labrador, Eddie and cat, Charlie ๐Ÿพ

๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ™Œ Veterinary Receptionist Week ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŽ‰

This week we would like to say a particular thank you to our reception staff who are generally your first point of call if you ring us and the last people you see as you leave the practice!

We celebrate the wonderful job they do with answering your questions, reassuring your concerns, arranging your appointments, comforting you in tricky circumstances, ordering your animals medicines and MUCH, MUCH more......

๐Ÿšจ Equine Flu Cases ๐Ÿšจ
Weโ€™re seeing an increase in equine influenza cases across the UK, including a confirmed case reported in Shropshire in an unvaccinated horse.

Flu is a highly contagious respiratory disease can spread quickly between horses, especially where there is close contact or shared facilities.

Symptoms include:
โŒHigh temperature (>38.5)
โŒDry harsh cough
โŒNasal discharge
โŒLethargy
โŒSwollen lymph nodes

โ€ข Isolate any horse showing signs of illness (e.g. coughing, nasal discharge, fever) and get in touch. Maintain good hygiene and biosecurity practices

๐Ÿ’‰ Vaccination remains the most effective way to reduce the risk of infection and limit the spread of the virus.
๐Ÿ’‰After an initial course, influenza boosters are required at least every 12 months to maintain immunity.
๐Ÿ’‰Please get in touch if you think your horses vaccines may have lapsed.

If you have any concerns, questions about vaccinations, or would like to check your horseโ€™s status, please donโ€™t hesitate to get in touch with us. ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ’‰
