Today, on the 1st of September, we are carrying out a proper deep cleaning session for our small bird cages here at Birds4u .
Cleanliness is one of the most important parts of bird care, and we take it extremely seriously. Every day, our team carries out general cleaning to keep the cages fresh, tidy, and comfortable for the birds. Then, every two weeks, we carry out a more detailed 50% clean. And once a month, we do a full deep clean.
During this deep cleaning process, every bird is carefully and calmly moved into a clean temporary cage. We then fully empty the original cage, remove all used bedding, clean all trays, surfaces, perches, and cage areas, and replace everything with fresh bedding.
After that, the cages are properly sprayed, disinfected, and cleaned using F10, which is a professional disinfectant recommended by our vet. Once the full cleaning and disinfecting process is complete, the cages are set up again fresh, clean, and comfortable, almost like brand-new cages for the birds.
This routine is not just about making the cages look nice. Proper cleaning helps protect birds from bacteria, infection, bad smells, dust, waste build-up, and possible disease. It also creates a healthier and more comfortable environment for them to eat, sleep, play, and live happily.
At Birds4U , bird welfare always comes first. The management and the whole team are very strict when it comes to cleaning, hygiene, feeding, handling, and general look-after. No carelessness is accepted at any level, because every bird deserves proper attention, proper care, and a clean, safe environment.
We also openly invite and challenge our customers to visit us at any time during our opening hours, without any appointment or prior notice. If you ever notice anything that does not look right, any mess, any hygiene issue, or anything you feel can be improved, please mention it to us. We genuinely welcome advice and feedback, because it helps us improve even more.
