NEVER TO LATE.

I wanted to do a quick post on dog training theory for me.

Am always looking at ways to improve my dogs relationship with me but also with each other.

Usually, we would put Jasper & Wednesday in crates when we leave the house and Narla & Daisy on the bed to make sure they settle and because they are at different stages of their lives

But recently, I've been trailing them all out together when I come to the gym, using a camera to see what they are doing.

This is what I saw after finishing the leg press.

But I just want people to remember dog training never ends.

You can always do more.

Don't let anyone limit your relationship with your dog.

That is what makes you unique.

Welcome to the family, Digger.

Like most young dogs, Digger is getting into some trouble on his walks due to his over excitement & manners.

Jumping in the face, too friendly. Typical adolescence behaviour however this can land him into trouble with the wrong dog.

So he has now joined our packs to learn how to socialise properly from dogs of all ages & sizes who can teach him the right things, while being supervised by me

He smashed it, taking corrections well. He loved to follow Narla & investigated Zeus. Teaching him to both play & be calm around the pack. Installing a follower state of mind & of course recall.

But it was a great first day for him 🙏🏾🙏🏾

IT'S A HOT ONE 🌞

Pack Walk had to be cut short with the heat and giving the dogs more shaded and relaxing time than walking & play.

The pack has to understand when to play and when to relax by following my lead. Helping learn to relax, not something that comes naturally to a lot of dogs.

So remember to train your dog how to relax. As we had some time, i thought, why not get some photos? I hope you enjoy them.

Please be careful with the heat and your dog. Be safe and prepare them with shade, fans & water.

Now, to get home and prep the bbq because what else is there on a sunny day like today.

PACK CUDDLES!!

When you catch Dad trying to take a photo but to comfy to move so back to sleep they go 😆😆

Cold mornings mean pack cuddles when Dad & Mum bodies aren't available.

This doesn't just happen. Your pack mentality has to be in a good place, but just enjoying the moments is what counts.

These are moments in time that stay with you forever.

Weather was a little colder today, and Wednesday decided she would identify as a burrito 🌯

LITTLE SUNDAY PHOTO DUMP!!

Ann is always better at capturing the moments with the dogs, while I tend to disconnect from my phone and stay in the moment.

But watching the dogs cuddle and create strong pack bonds with each other is the best thing.

We also have the privilege of looking after the horses Buddy & Ember. But also Hotey the miniature donkey.

You can learn a lot from animals if you're willing to listen & learn.

That’s 6 out of 6 guys!!

Our final group class was in Neston taking the guys on a beautiful but also the hardest walk.

Allowing them to use all the skill they have learnt over the 6 weeks and put them into a walk.

We passed off lead dogs, bikes, runners, families with no incidents from any of the dogs.

This group class what not about having the perfect trained dog. It was about creating better owners and handlers for their dogs.

Everyone came out better than when they started and that’s all that counts here. Am proud of everyone who stepped up to do this and also getting to see everyone’s dogs.

Me and the team are still brainstorming ideas for our next group class!

Setbacks

Something I hear with a lot of people not just my clients is the day to day experiences they encounter from people they don’t know and will never see again.

This only affects your dog if you allow it to affect you. You have to rub it off, people can be horrible, judgmental and cruel but hasn’t that always been the way of the world? 🌍

You need to develop the F**K YOU attitude. Put your middle finger and hold your head up high. If you actually trying to train your dog and doing the right things f**k everybody else.

This attitude you need to train yourself for, stop being a victim and start being someone who doesn’t care about the opinions of as****es 🤪

Dog Training 2024.

It’s already the 6th & what have you done?

The only way to change a dog’s behaviour is to change the daily habits of their owner.

We all have our own problems & issues. Don’t make excuses, don’t complain and get to work. Because in the end it’s all on you.

Those who want to succeed WILL depending on the work they put in, working a problem until they get results.

New Year will bring you both new happiness but also new problems, and we must train no matter the problems.

WHY?

Because your dog deserves it.
Earn the love, loyalty & friendship that you take for granted everyday.

So i wanted to thank WAWA and Brenda one of the Trustee's for our gift and card and share with you guys the BTS work we do here at Birkenhead K9.

Being trusted to help dogs through the rescue programme and into new homes is one of the reasons i got into the training world.

Next year am hoping to share more of our rescue work and what we do BTS.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and are ready for NYE this week, we helped a couple of clients over on Christmas Day because i promise every client we are there for them no matter what.

Additionally i cant forget the clients who also gave us cards & gifts it is greatly appreciated.

Group Class Is Back!!

Running Short Group Classes Next Year…we will be doing different ones throughout the year so keep your eyes peeled for them.

This one is for clients only those who have been in the past know the drill, and we’re excited to catch up with all our clients and their dogs.

We have already filled a lot of spots so please DM to not be disappointed.

Last session with Floyd today. He is not reacting to dogs or people now but struggles around shepherds so we called in Duch to help.

Well of course he only went and smashed it, watching owners go from being filled with anxiety & nervousness to more confident leaders is a beautiful process to watch.

As long as the owner has the fight to succeed we will always support and help.

Floyd is now cleared for group class & support walks. Great work am so proud of you.

Thanks to Amy for the support and also James shadowing cases to build up his knowledge.
