A little bit of a vulnerable post!
Lance and I have qualified for the regionals! 🤩

Anyone who knows me knows that I haven’t had the chance to qualify for/compete at a regionals for many years due to various horse injuries, confidence knocks, lack of a competition ride, etc.

I put my heart and soul into working with my horses, be that my own or my clients. After I lost Elektra I thought I had lost my competition dreams too. I lost a little bit of my spark. I took a step away from competition riding for a couple of years to remember why I started it all, to regain my connection with horses, which took me into a different way of training and working with them. To be able to confidently train horses in the way that feels right to me and to be achieving competition goals at the same time feels like a big accomplishment and I feel a little emotional about it. I am proud of where I am today and I’m excited for what is to come! A regional qualification may seem small to some but with the journey to get here, this feels like a milestone for me.

I’m very grateful to Lance for bringing it all back and to Dani Murdoch and Anna Miller for this opportunity.

I can’t wait to get in between the white boards again.

Another outing for Lance at Felbridge today 🤩

He was an absolute dream to take out and came home with 67.65% and 2nd place in Elementary 5 🥈

Our second test, Elementary 6, I felt, was marked a little harshly, but with sideways rain and both of us feeling tired by that point, a couple of mistakes were made and there is definitely plenty for us to learn from and improve on ☔️

Overall, I’m absolutely over the moon with Lance today. Our partnership just keeps growing, and I genuinely can’t help smiling every time I take him out - as you can probably tell from the photos 🫶🐴 always pleased with positive comments from the judges, again commenting on how much it looks like Lance is enjoying himself in the arena.

So proud of this horse and excited for what’s to come.

A massive thank you to for coming with us today and taking these beautiful photos 📸

Getting competition ready with Lance ✨

The day before a show, I like to keep everything as calm and low pressure as possible for both of us. Light exercise, time to connect, and keeping things relaxed helps us head into competition feeling settled and confident together.

I also love getting everything prepped the day before; tack cleaned, lorry packed, and all the little jobs done early so the actual competition day feels smooth and stress-free.

For me, preparation isn’t just about performance - it’s about keeping our partnership strong and making sure Lance feels happy, comfortable, and relaxed every step of the way
