🚨🐶 DOG OWNERS WARNING: EXTREME HEAT IN TEESSIDE TODAY🥵
NO DOG WALKS TODAY AND POSSIBLY NONE TOMORROW 🐾☀️
⚠️ The risks of walking dogs in extreme heat include:
• 🐾 Burnt paws — Pavements and roads can become scorching hot and burn paw pads within seconds.
• 🥵 Heatstroke — Dogs can overheat very quickly, especially breeds with thick coats or flat faces.
• 💨 Breathing difficulties — Hot weather makes it harder for dogs to cool themselves down.
• 💧 Dehydration — Dogs lose fluids rapidly in high temperatures.
• ❤️ Serious health complications — Severe overheating can lead to collapse, organ failure, or even death.
🚫 Avoid dog walks until temperatures drop significantly — wait until early morning or late evening when it’s much cooler.
🔥 Remember: If the pavement is too hot to hold your hand on for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.
