🚨🐾 Attention - With Christmas just around the corner, it's important to check in on any strange behavior from your furry friends. If your dogs, are acting out of sorts, check that it isn’t a diffuser oil that is being used in your homes. 🐶❌
Please ensure that the essential oils being burned are not toxic for your pets. Here is a list of essential oils to avoid if you have dogs at home: Anise, Birch, Bitter Almond, Boldo, Calamus, Camphor, Cassia, Chenopodium, Cloves, Garlic, Goosefoot, Horseradish, Hyssop, Juniper, Mugwort, Mustard, Oregano, Pennyroyal, Red or White Thyme, Rue, Santolina, Sassafras, Savory, Tansy, Tea Tree Oil, Terebinth, Thuja, Wintergreen, Wormwood, Yarrow.
If in doubt, contact the vet immediately. It's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to the health and safety of our beloved pets. 🐾💕 🎄✨

With the start of firework season approaching, please see the below advice from Debs Mackay, obviously this was put on a briard page, but advice can be used for our dogs and remember to keep your cats indoors if you can. Anything that can help our four legged friends get through this stressful period.

Message from my vets that has popped up today

It's a hot day, and it looks like we're in for a few this week. PLEASE take extra special care of your pets. A dog will not die if they miss a walk or two this week, but the heat could. Be particularly careful if you have to take your dog in the car, and don't ever leave them - even with the window down. Heatstroke can kick in quickly and can be fatal.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲!
Prevention is always the best option, so try to avoid your dog overheating by ensuring they have shade, plenty of drinking water and don't leave them in the car.

𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲
*Find a shady spot for them to lie in
*Put cool, damp towels down for them to lie on
*Make sure they have plenty of drinking water
*Walk them in the morning/evening when
it's cooler
*Dogs love a paddling pool or sprinkler!
*Don't leave them alone for long periods in the
garden - keep an eye out for symptoms...

𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 (not freezing cold)
*Call vet ASAP - 𝟬𝟭𝟮𝟳𝟳 𝟴𝟮𝟯𝟴𝟱𝟴

Beware of heatstroke and watch for the signs. 🐾
