Join our Slow Ways Journey!!!

I thought I'd give a little bit of a heads up about the charities we'll be supporting as well as the team before setting out on our adventure on Sunday. To kick things off I thought I'd give you a little bit of background info on the Slow Ways...

What is Slow Ways?

Slow Ways is a nationwide project with the inspiring goal of creating a network of walking routes that connect all of Great Britain’s towns and cities. Their mission is to encourage more people to walk and discover the beauty and benefits of slower travel. By promoting walking, Slow Ways aims to improve health, well-being, and our connection to the natural world, while reducing our carbon footprint.

Why Are We Supporting Slow Ways?

Anybody that knows me, knows I love to be outside, no matter the weather, being out and about is the best! As a passionate advocate for outdoor activities and the incredible benefits they bring, supporting Slow Ways aligns perfectly with my values. Walking not only boosts physical health but also enhances mental well-being and fosters a deeper appreciation for our environment.

How You Can Get Involved?

1. Get out and about!
Slow Ways is aiming to build a national network of verified routes. If you fancy getting out and about and enjoying some fresh air, check out their routes and see if you can complete a walk and verify a route so others can also enjoy it in the future!

2. Spread the Word!
Share our posts and tell your friends and family about Slow Ways. Awareness is key to growing this movement.

3. Donate!
If you want to support Slow Ways directly, consider donating to support developing and maintaining these routes. Your contribution will help make walking accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

I'm hoping that our challenge will build awareness and participation in the Slow Ways. By joining me, you’ll not only support a great cause but also experience the joy of exploring our beautiful country on foot. Let's come together to promote a healthier, greener, and more connected future.

Up next I'll be giving you some of the lowdown on Midshires Search & Rescue, before introducing the challenge team!

Please remember to like and share my posts and if you're able to make a donation you can do this by the Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/gerry-moss-midshires-slow-ways?utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=page%2Fgerry-moss-midshires-slow-ways&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=pfp-share

Thank you for your support!

Things have been a little quiet in the Jay K9 HQ…

Back at the end of July I stepped down as a Head Instructor with Mantrailing Global, I didn’t feel that things were right for me as a Head Instructor any more...

The family and I have had a few weeks away, touring Europe in the van during August. This has given me some quality time to reflect and think about the future and how we will be moving forward with Jay K9 Mantrailing….I will obviously still be offering mantrailing sessions and am super looking forward to the rest of this year and have some great plans for 2024 (please give me a shout if you want to host in 2024 as the calendar is on the desk and getting booked up at the moment!).

One of the things that has been playing on my mind and I am very conscious of, is that for many of my customers my stepping down as a Head Instructor may have come as a little bit of a surprise, many of you have contacted me for support and advice in the past - I’m not abandoning anyone and I still love to talk all things mantrailing… I’ll just not be offering any Head Instructor CPD sessions any more, but the door is always open and I’m still here!

Stepping down was a tough decision, but it’s the best decision for me and my family and I’m excited about what the future holds for me and the mantrailing work I involve myself in! I’ll still be continuing to build my knowledge and learn in order to be the best instructor I can be and look forward to seeing you on the Mantrailing journey!

I’ve attached a few pics of our time away!
