🐾 Seamus & Ruby 🐾

Two very different dogs, two very different sets of needs and a few drop ins and day care bookings across July. 🤎

While their owners were celebrating a family wedding and all the festivities that came with it, we stepped in to make sure both Seamus, their senior Labrador, and Ruby, their brand-new Pomeranian puppy, were well cared for at home.

For Ruby, that meant plenty of puppy supervision, attention and keeping her little world ticking along while the family were out. 🐶

For Seamus, it was all about keeping him comfortable, settled and happy in his usual routine, with the extra care and patience that comes with looking after a senior dog. 🥰

Completely opposite ends of the spectrum, but that’s one of the things I love about pet sitting; adapting the care around the individual dog rather than expecting every dog to fit the same routine.

It was such a pleasure looking after these two. Ruby kept us on our toes, Seamus kept us company, and between them, we had the perfect mix of puppy chaos and senior wisdom. 🐾

Another lovely example of why in-home pet care can be such a great option when life gets busy - familiar surroundings, their own routines, and care tailored completely to them. 🧡

Mabel, Luna & Barney 🐾🧡

A little look back at another stay with these three very special repeat clients who have been part of the Zoomies & Zzz’s journey right from the beginning.

Their family were the very first to book an overnight sit with us when I set up business last year, and it’s so lovely to have them back again. 🥹

Two weeks of dog sitting, walks, cuddles, enrichment and plenty of the usual Zoomies chaos. 😂

So grateful for the trust our repeat clients put in us, and even more grateful that these three have been part of the journey from the very start. 🐶✨

“But my dog is healthy…”
It’s something I’ve seen and heard people say a few times, and it’s got me thinking…
When we’re deciding whether to head out for a walk, it’s easy to focus on things like age, breed, or the temperature. But it’s just as important to look at the individual dog in front of us.
For some dogs, a walk means a relaxing sniff.
For others, it can mean constantly scanning their surroundings, reacting to triggers, barking, lunging or struggling to switch off.
That takes energy too.
On warm or humid days, I try to look at the whole picture before making a decision.
Sometimes that’s changing route, shortening walks, swapping for enrichment drop ins or deciding to cancel if it’s the kinder option that day.
Every dog is different, and every day is different too.

**This isn’t to say reactive dogs shouldn’t be walked in warm weather. It’s simply a reminder to include behaviour and emotional state as part of your risk assessment alongside the weather and individual needs.

Billy & Poppy 🧡

Over the last few months, I’ve been gradually getting to know these two lovely dogs alongside their owner.

We’ve taken things at Billy’s pace, starting with joining them on walks, popping in at home and introducing short day sits to help build trust, confidence and a positive relationship ahead of some overnight stays.

Every time I see him, Billy seems a little more relaxed and a little more confident. Watching him start to come out of his shell and show more of his personality has been so lovely 🥰

Meanwhile, Poppy continues to be her wonderful self and is always happy to help show Billy that new people aren’t quite so scary after all.

Building trust takes time, patience and consistency, but seeing those little moments of progress is honestly one of the most rewarding parts of what I do 🧡🐾

If you're a new client, simply complete the enquiry form using the link in my bio or this post. It allows me to gather all the information I need in one place, check that you're within my service area, and respond as efficiently as possible.

✨ Submitting the form doesn't guarantee a booking, as availability will need to be checked first. I'll get back to you within 1-3 business days to discuss the next steps.

🐶 Existing clients: Nothing changes for you! Please continue to message me via Whatsapp or text as usual for your regular bookings.

Meet Marley & Jack 🐾

I’ve recently started walking these two once a week ahead of looking after them later this year, giving us all the chance to get to know each other and build a familiar routine before their owners go away.

Little Marley has quickly appointed herself as my shadow, rarely venturing too far from my side, while Jack is your classic spaniel - happily making his way along with his nose firmly glued to the ground in search of the next exciting scent 😂🐶

It’s always lovely getting to know each dog’s individual personality, and these two couldn’t be more different if they tried!

I’m looking forward to plenty more adventures with them over the coming months 🧡
