Someone was dreaming of his first puppy class last night!! 🧡💤

Puppies need a lot of good quality sleep and this beautiful boy will be absorbing all he experienced in his puppy class, meeting new friends and learning lots (not forgetting the tasty treats!).

JustPuppies Training School’s next Puppy Foundation Tuesday has one space left!!

Tuesday 5th May
Fringford Village Hall
6.15-7.15pm
(6 week course with a weeks break on 26th May)

If your puppy is 20 weeks old or younger then this could be the course for you!

Fun and family friendly, you and your puppy will learn lots and get the chance to meet new friends.

Off lead, controlled play - helping build play skills.

Basic cues - teach them Sit, Stand, Down, Stay, Wait, Settle

Manners - meet and greet politely, learn to walk nicely on a lead

Leave it - this teaches your puppy that not everything is for them. Teaching them to come away from things.

Art of exchange - we all know this one…. Your puppy has something you’d rather they didn’t and want it back!! Let’s teach them to drop things willingly.

Focus and learning to come away from distraction ….. we practice asking your puppy to look at you and also reinforcing that ‘offered’ behaviour where they choose to look at you.

Sound good? Would like to join us?

What a finale for Puppy Foundation Sunday class!!

And to make a change, we were out in the sunshine at the wonderful dog field.

Without further ado, please allow me to introduce

Moo, Shadow, Benji & Bear

Puppies don’t come in a ‘one size fits all’ and it’s the same for their classes. Adapting to suit them whether it be the exercises taught in class or helping them with their confidence levels.

Which leads me on perfectly to our first intro ….

The beautiful, cuddly girl that is Moo.
Moo was very shy at first so came to class along with her confidant and older sister Spud. She would do as much as she was ready for and then took herself to bed for a snooze!! 💤. This girl has transformed in front of my eyes ….. soooo much more confidence (and dare I say it, even a little ‘sassy’ at times! Go Moo!). Her hoomans are doing an outstanding job with her and attention and recalls are superb.

A very special mention … to a very special girl who I had the absolute pleasure to meet …. Spud. Fly high beautiful 🌈

Next up … Shadow! Shadow has been confident in class and happy to meet and greet the other puppies (including his brother, Bear!… check out the photos, they look SO different). With confidence, came distraction. So Shadows learning came from focus, learning to switch off the ‘noise’ of the environment and check in with his hooman. His young handler showed us how’s it’s done with the impulse control exercises (well done 😎.

Benji ….. this lovely boy was so shy, we decided to swap him onto a different class which was quieter for him. And it was the best thing for him. Week by week, he’s gained confidence and wanted to play and interact with the others. What a super, smiley boy!

And then we have our lovely Bear! He was so excited to come into class, especially when his brother was there to greet him! Bear soon learnt to come away from distraction and focus, doing some fantastic ‘automatic’ sits and checking in. Well done Bear!
It’s been a pleasure to have you in class. And we missed your mum today!

Thank you all for choosing JustPuppies, thank you for your patience and thank you for being such a pleasure to teach. 🐾

Here we go!!! Puppy Foundation graduates from our Tuesday class.

Introducing Ozzy, Cedric, Bertie, Obi, Ruben & Indi

All of these puppies have been just wonderful in class, learning lots but also having very individual journeys.

Ozzy came along with his young handler who did most of the training (well done R!). Ozzy learnt to calm and focus. He was sooooo excited coming into class and told us all about it. Settling Ozzy down got quicker week on week to get him into the right space for learning.

Cedric & Bertie …. These beautiful brothers slept pretty much the whole of week 1, just enjoying the ‘puppy TV’ and watching the others. Then by week 2 they realised these classes could be really good fun!
Their hoomans separated in class so that the pups could focus without the distraction of each other.
They have both done so well over the past few weeks, gaining skills and confidence. Will miss you boys.

Obi was our chilled out boy in class. Taking everything in his stride. His young handler was there each week helping (well done O!). And your recall on party week was epic! At the end of class, Obi was enjoying his chew a little too much to stop for a photo so the boys joined him on his level!

Ruben, well what can I say? What a difference. Ruben was very unsure of the world around him, needing some space from new people and puppies. And we listened. We gave him the space he needed with positive reinforcement creating positive associations. He’s now such a happy boy, enjoying hoomans and dogs alike. What a dude!

And last but no means least…. Doing it for the girls is Indi. Indi was a little shy to begin with but soon found her confidence. Learning to reduce the frustration (wanting to play and get off that lead), focusing on her hoomans and ‘trying’ to give up that chew on the art of exchange, she’s been amazing. Thank you for coming back to me and letting me be part of your puppy training journey!

Whatever journey your puppy is on, whatever they go on to do next, do keep in touch, do reach out if you need me and most of all ….. have fun!!

Thank you everyone for choosing JustPuppies and I hope to see you again soon 🐾

JustPuppies Training Schools next Puppy Foundation starts on Sunday 3rd May 2-3pm.

If your puppy is 20wks or under (at the first week of class) and are at least a week clear after their 1st vaccination then this is the class for you!

Positive, force free training at its best.

If you would like your puppy to have the best start, gain confidence, practice play and social skills, then our Puppy Foundation course could be just what you’re looking for.

Covering everything you need to know with a young puppy, creating good habits and giving them positive associations which will be the building blocks of how they see the outside world .

As well as careful, guided play time, your puppy will learn focus, polite meet and greets, settle, leave its, walking nicely on a lead to name a few.

Plus advice on how to best avoid them practising any unwanted behaviours like biting, pulling on the lead, jumping up.

Or how about some guidance with toilet training, crate training and how to settle?

Each week is 1hr long, but taking it at your puppy’s pace.

If you’d like to know more about our classes or 1-1 training then please visit www.justpuppies.training or click on the link below.

Where do I start with this lovely bunch?

Huge round of applause for JustPuppies recent graduates of Puppy Plus Intermediate class!!

It gives me great pleasure to introduce Bonnie, Bert, Brie, Pickle and Posy.

And also a big shout out and special mention to our young handlers who have been on their puppy’s journeys through Puppy Foundation classes and now Puppy Intermediate. Including the younger generations is both empowering to them where they can be involved in their puppy’s training but also it teaches them that being positive and using reward based training with our wonderful dogs creates a better future for the doggy world.

We’ve have had lots of laughs along the way, nurturing what the dogs have learnt so far and adding to their skill sets. Building on the connection and bond, making it fun and engaging.

I really hope to see you all again soon for some play time and perhaps some extra training thrown in!

Do keep in touch and a big thank you from me for being so much fun to teach 🐾

Some fabulous puppies who have graduated from JustPuppies Training Schools Puppy Foundation class.

Introducing Nala, Bailey and Peggy (we missed you Bunty).

These puppies have been such a pleasure to have in class.

Nala joined us in week 2 and was soooooo excited to be around the other puppies. But with patience, rewarding the calm and putting that energy into positive behaviours, week by week Nala just got better and better. Disengaging from the others and learning to calm and focus. All done with fun in mind and never taking away the beautiful personality and bundle of joy that she is. Keep being you Nala!!

Bailey….. this lovely boy has been on one special journey. The most important journey of all ….. feeling ok with the world around him and gaining confidence.

We took things slowly and did things at Bailey’s pace. He was really eager to play but he wasn’t sure about how to go about it. When he needed space, we gave him space. Today, was the pinnacle. He looked so happy to be around all the other puppies and people.
Just amazing. Well done to his young family for joining in on the training and games!

Peggy ……. Week after week, she’s got better at focus and coming away from distractions. Her young handlers have been with her for every step of the way and getting involved in the training. Well done Pegs L, keep being brilliant.

Lastly Bunty who couldn’t make the final week. Bunty is one big bundle of fun and love.

Her hooman needed to keep her occupied in class as she was eager to learn. Rather than learn things we didn’t want her to do, we taught Bunty to channel her energy into sits, ‘watch’, being able to settle with lour frustration. All essential life skills which are transferable into every day life. We missed you Bunty in the final week!

Thanks everyone for choosing JustPuppies and being totally awesome! 🐾
