Still hobbling, still hopeful 🐾💛

It’s been almost a year since my leg was fractured while out dog walking, and I’m still carrying around 8 screws and a metal plate like a human hardware store 😅

Hey friends,

I’ve been sitting on this for a while, but I finally decided to ask for help.

Last year in May, while out dog walking, one of the dogs I was caring for accidentally ran full speed into my leg and fractured my tibia. It was a freak accident that led to orthopaedic surgery, and now I have a big metal plate and 8 screws holding my leg together. 😵‍💫

Since then, I’ve been pushing through recovery, trying to keep up with life and work, but the hardware is causing ongoing pain and making everyday movement difficult. I’ve been told I’m ready to have the plate and screws removed — and I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to that.

But the wait for surgery through the public system is really long here in Australia, so I’m hoping to raise enough to see a specialist privately and get this done sooner. I’ve created a GoFundMe to help cover the costs, and any support — whether it’s a donation, a share, or just words of encouragement — would mean the world to me.
