Tom Foster Clippers A horse and pet clipper and trimmer blade sharpening service. Pet grooming and veterinary trimmers and scissors welcome.

All makes of clipper and trimmer blade are precision ground using lapping machines designed for the purpose. Unfortunately we cannot regrind ceramic blades. Wherever possible we aim to get your sharpened blades back to you within a week of receiving them. Price is £4 per set for blades; scissor sharpening £3 per pair. If sending by post there is a set p+p charge of £3 per parcel. Clipper and trimm

Just to let you know that Tom has been admitted into hospital. He is Ok, just dehydrated. I think it will probably be best if I just try to return everyone's property as soon as I can. At the moment we are busy trying to keep up with all the farm work, but please be aware that your clippers/blades are on my mind and I have not forgotten you. Regards Lis

So it feels like I keep making excuses at the moment, but in fact Tom has been very ill all this week and we are just managing to keep ticking over on the farm, with some help. We are really sorry that we are struggling to get into the workshop at the moment and I am still hoping to be able to get start getting things sorted out over this weekend. Unfortunately we have had to make the difficult to decision to finish our clipper sharpening business.

Dairy farming is taking up more and more of our time and it is seriously affecting the service we can provide to our clipping customers. After more than 25 years sharpening blades it has not been an easy decision to make.

If you have blades and/or clippers still with us please DON'T WORRY. We will be tackling the backlog over the coming weekend and will get everything back to you as soon as possible.

I would like to thank everyone for sticking with us over the years - some of you have been sending blades to us since we started up.

Moreover, in these difficult times, please take care of yourselves.

We're back from our holiday now and back at work. While it's quiet, this is a really good time to get your blades sharpened ready for when our horses start getting hairy again.

Just to let you all know that our annual summer break will be from 10 - 21 July. If we receive any blades or clippers during that time, we won't be able to sharpen or service them until we return. In the meantime I am now back home full time for the time being, so turnaround should be down to a couple of days for sharpening. Lis

Hello Everyone, Tom's wife, Lis here - New Year (almost), new admin. I am in the process of taking over this business from Tom, because he has just got too snowed under with work on our dairy farm to be able to continue. Anyway, while this changeover is happening I am still having to work part time and I would appreciate your understanding. During March and April 2017 I will be working away from home during the week, so I will only be able to do the sharpening at the weekends. It may therefore take longer to return blades to you. In the meantime if you need any sharpening or clipper servicing doing especially quickly, please call our new mobile phone number (07555 659711 - see the About page) and Tom will try to help. For those of you who have finished clipping for the year, now is the time to get your clippers serviced and blades sharpened so that you beat the rush in autumn.
For the moment our prices are still the same - a very competitive £4 per set for blades plus £3 per parcel p+p.

OK, so it's some time since we were using this FB page. Tim O'Connell is no longer sharpening blades, so everything is back now with Tom and Lis Foster - still at Burley Meadows Farm. Any cheques for payment now need to be made to 'Tom Foster'.

It was a chaotic autumn and winter due to Lis working away from home for some time and also Tom being very busy on our dairy farm. Our apologies to those who had a long wait for returns while we got sorted out.

We are now completely up to date with blade sharpening and clipper servicing, so turnaround is a couple of days. Blades dropped into the farm can generally be ready for pick up the following day.
