We have a very rare space becoming available for assisted DIY.
β€’ AM feeds & nets put in every morning
β€’ PM feeds & nets can be put in at night if left out

β˜€οΈ24/7 summer turnout available May - Oct.
❌ No winter field turnout however horses are allowed in the arena loose for a roll/run around.

β˜‘οΈ Option of full livery to cover holidays/sickness.

Child friendly yard with an all weather fully floodlit arena with jumps and great hacking.

Another sad day here at Gatend as we said goodbye to two of the original golden oldies πŸŒˆπŸ’”

Shortly after 2pm side by side with Billie & Morgan with them Heather and Oscar gained their wings and galloped over the rainbow bridge πŸ’”πŸͺ½

The past couple of months have been hard on us all here at Gatend, and saying goodbye to these two today marked the end of another era ☹️. They were very lucky that they got to retire here and grow old together, they spent the last few months tucked up in their stables knowing nothing but love however old age eventually started to get the better of them πŸ˜₯

It never gets any easier losing them but we can take comfort knowing that they spent their last 30 minutes enjoying some grass whilst enjoying a nice groom β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

This past week has been a complete whirlwind πŸ₯Ή

We would like to say a huge thank you to our clients old and new without you all we would never have had as many successful years at Gatend as we have had, and for that we will be forever grateful🐴✨

Like everything all good things must come to an end eventually and for us as a family this is the end of an era β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

We have been inundated with messages since announcing we were closing and we cannot thank you all enough for the support and good wishes. We will not be able to reply to them all individually as there has been so many so we would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you to each and everyone of you, the support and amount of messages we have received has been completely overwhelming πŸ₯Ή

Molly has been a firm favourite with many of you and she has been simply irreplaceable to us over the years, old but gold as they say! Here’s to a long and happy retirement for our precious girl πŸ₯°

A lovely morning here at Gatend but we can’t help but feel a little bit sad…

Tonight is our last full night of lessons and we know it is not going to be an easy night! When we untack the last pony this evening that marks the end of an amazing era πŸ˜“β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

We are aware of the weather forecast tomorrow however as this is the last ever Sunday at Gatend we WILL NOT cancel. We will be at the yard and we will assess each lesson as you arrive. If any of you want to opt for stable management sessions instead tomorrow you are more than welcome to as we know that some of you will just want to spend time with your favourite ponies before we close.

A very hard post for us to write πŸ₯Ίβ€¦

Unfortunately due to time and other commitments we have came to the heartbreaking decision to close the riding school as of 1st March 2025. As many of you know we pride ourselves in being a small family run business and it has not been a decision that we have taken lightly, however as a family we feel that it is for the best for us.

We cannot thank all of you enough for your continued support over the years and we have loved seeing you all progress with your riding. Business will be as normal until 28th February 2025, anyone with any bookings after that date please send us a message and we will refund deposits/give alternative suggestions.

As a family we appreciate your understanding at this time as we come to terms with our decision and navigate our way through the next couple of weeks. This is the end of an era for us all here at Gatend and we cannot emphasise enough how heartbreaking it is for us to share this news with you.

Until then you are all welcome to come and see the ponies as much as you like (pre booking required to ensure we are on-site) and we are positive that the ponies will be very grateful for any treats or carrots 🀭πŸ₯•πŸŽ

We have made so many memories with you all that will last a lifetime and we will cherish them forever, we hope that you all keep up the hard work and we will look forward to following your riding journeys πŸ₯°

Lots of you have now met our new girl β€œSpice” 🐴🀎

We have been assessing her and getting to know her up until now but today she made her debut in the riding school 🀩. She put her best hoof forward today and therefore we will continue to slowly introduce her into lessons from now on 😎
