Monty’s First Puppy Groom 🐶✨

What a little star you were today, Monty! 💛 Your very first groom and you handled it beautifully — such a calm, sweet boy.

Starting early with grooming is so important for puppies. It helps them build confidence, get used to the process, and sets them up for a lifetime of positive grooming experiences.

For puppies like Monty, I recommend a gentle introduction and then regular visits every 4 weeks — usually around 4 puppy grooms to begin with — to help them grow into the routine.

So… I’ve signed up for Race for Life Pretty Muddy on Saturday 2nd May 😅

Now, full honesty—I am not a fan of mud, and I’m not entirely convinced I’ll be gracefully climbing over all those obstacles… this may turn into more of a careful walk (with the occasional wobble!) than a full-on mud run 😂

BUT I’m doing it for a really important reason 💗1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, and that’s why events like this matter so much. Every pound raised helps Cancer Research UK continue their incredible, life-saving work.

So whether I’m running, climbing, or cautiously stepping around the mud… I’ll be out there giving it a go!

Traffic News - they have just shut Blackhorse Road - but once again a pop up closure with no notice

Customer used at 8am by 10am closed

I tried to give notice on traffic in the village just at the moment they are not giving local people notice

And yes I am aware Bedworth traffic is not good today either 🐾

This change has helped reduce hours of late-night admin and allows me to focus my time and energy where it belongs — grooming your lovely dogs 💕

🐾 A Little Honest Chat from Heritage Paws & Co. 🐾

Grooming is my passion — and I feel incredibly lucky to have such a loyal, supportive customer base that keeps me fully booked. Thank you. Truly. 💜

I currently groom:

• 4 days 8am–6pm ( Tue Wed Fri Sat)
• Thursday 8am–12pm

That’s 44 hours a week purely grooming — hands-on with your beautiful dogs.

What many people don’t see is the admin side that happens late in the evenings…

With bank transfers:
• Every customer requires an invoice to be raised
• Each invoice then needs payment allocating manually
• Payments need checking
• Some payments arrive after collection, meaning I’m often doing accounts late at night

With Making Tax Digital now meaning quarterly submissions to HMRC instead of once a year, admin time has increased significantly.

As a small, independent salon, I need to keep admin simple and manageable so I can focus on what I love most — grooming your dogs to the highest standard in a calm, restraint-free environment.

💷 Cash payments make a huge difference.

Cash means:
• I can bank once a week
• Raise one weekly invoice
• Allocate payments the same day
• Spend less time at the computer and more time doing what I love

If you’re able to pay by cash, I would be incredibly grateful. It genuinely helps keep the business running smoothly and keeps my evenings admin-light instead of spreadsheet-heavy.

Puppy Love 💕

Little Rio the toy poodle came to see us for his very first puppy groom at Heritage Paws & Co ✂️🐶
What an absolute sweetheart — he took everything in his tiny stride and gave us plenty of tail wags along the way.

Puppy grooms are training grooms, and that’s why you’ll see Rio again in 4 weeks’ time.
We recommend 4 puppy grooms, each 4 weeks apart, to gently introduce puppies to the grooming process. This helps them learn:
🐾 being handled
🐾 standing calmly
🐾 the sounds and sensations of grooming
🐾 that the groom room is a safe, happy place

These early sessions build confidence and set puppies up for a lifetime of stress-free grooming 💖
