🌞 Keeping Your Dog Cool This Summer 🐾

With the temperatures rising, it’s important to help our dogs stay safe and comfortable. Here are a few simple ways you can keep them cool:

💧 Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water.
🌳 Walk during the coolest parts of the day, such as early morning or later in the evening.
🏡 Keep exercise light and allow plenty of time to rest in the shade.
🧊 Use frozen treats, stuffed Kongs, lick mats to provide cooling enrichment.
🐾 Check pavements with the back of your hand—if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws.
🌊 Let them enjoy a paddling pool or gently hose their paws and tummy with cool (not icy) water.
🧠 Swap long walks for enrichment games and short training sessions when the weather is too hot.
🚗 Never leave your dog in a parked car, even for a few minutes.

Remember, our dogs rely on us to make the safest decisions for them. Missing a walk on an exceptionally hot day is far better than risking heatstroke.

Thank you to everyone who has decided our dog’s entire personality, training, and intentions based solely on the fact she’s wearing a muzzle.

It’s truly impressive how much expertise can be gained from a two-second glance.

The muzzle isn’t there because she’s a “bad dog.” It’s there because responsible owners manage situations before problems happen.
Strange concept, I know.

I’d rather take precautions and protect my dog from failure than worry about how it looks to people who don’t know her. Her safety and success will always matter more than appearances.
