An established riding school, livery yard and equine assisted learning provider, focused on building harmony with the horse, supported by great staff and excellent facilities in Thurleigh, Bedford. Thurleigh Equestrian Centre is a top class dressage training facility and livery yard located just 6 miles outside of Bedford and within close distance to a variety of competition venues. We offer one t

o one dressage lessons on a range of experienced school masters and have excellent facilities including a 20x 40m indoor and international size outdoor arena and extensive off-road riding with direct access to the bridleway network. With 7 livery stables available Thurleigh Equestrian Centre prides itself on being able to offer a bespoke and friendly service where livery owners and horses can experience a personal approach. Our indoor and outdoor arenas are available to hire throughout the week. We also have regular visits from dressage trainers including Char Lassetter and Kim Ratcliffe.

Last week our Progressive Strides at Thurleigh Equestrian Centre students worked with our young American Miniature Horses, Pie, Charlie and Snowball to help them get ready for their in-hand shows in the Summer ❤️ The student's did a great job and the mini's really enjoyed it too.

🌟 Saddle Fitting Day – Wednesday 15th October! 🌟

We’re excited to welcome back the lovely Poppy from Peewee Saddlery for a saddle fitting day here at Thurleigh Equestrian Centre.

This event is open to everyone — whether you’d like your current saddle checked or you’re looking for a new one, come and make the most of Poppy’s expertise. 🐴

All fittings will take place in our indoor school, so you can stay dry and comfortable whatever the weather! 🌧️

What an incredible first week for Progressive Strides , Progressive Strides at Thurleigh Equestrian Centre our brand-new equine alternative provision, delivering Level 1 and 2 Horse Care programmes in partnership with Haddon Training, alongside tailored one-to-one support for SEN students.
After five months of long days, hard work and loads of preparation, it feels amazing to see everything finally come together. The whole team has worked tirelessly to make this happen.
Seeing the programme come to life with our amazing horses, dedicated staff, and fantastic facilities is truly rewarding – and we’re already seeing the difference it can make! 🐴✨
Here’s to the exciting journey ahead, full of growth, learning, and positive impact!

A huge heartfelt THANK YOU to the team at Country & Stable of Olney Country & Stable of Olney Limited for their incredible generosity in donating a whole load of brand-new equipment for our Progressive Strides students to use on the yard when they start with us on Tuesday 🐴💙

Thanks to your kindness, our students now have shiny new riding hats to keep them safe, sturdy wheelbarrows forks and brooms to help with yard work, and so much more. These gifts will be used every single day and will make such a difference to the experiences we can offer.

Our poor fields have really been through it this year — flooded and waterlogged all winter, and now dry, bare, and struggling in the summer heat. The only things thriving are the weeds! 🌱

Thankfully, Jake J Elston Paddock Services has been brilliant, sharing expert advice and putting together a plan for the next 12 months to help bring our paddocks back to life. We can’t wait to see the difference and I am sure our horses will appreciate it too ! 🙂

Thurleigh Equestrian Centre is a superb BHS accredited training facility and livery yard located just 6 miles outside of Bedford and within close distance to a variety of competition venues. Owned and managed by Beth Maloney, we offer excellent facilities including indoor and flood lit outdoor arenas and extensive off-road riding with direct access to the major national bridleway networks. The peaceful setting provides a relaxed environment for horse and owner, and benefits from panoramic views across the surrounding countryside. With 12 stables available Thurleigh Equestrian Centre prides itself on being able to provide a bespoke and friendly service where livery owners and horses can experience a professional and personal approach to horse care. Our indoor and outdoor arenas are also available for hire.
