Court Result
On 17th September 2024 Cheshire police attended road traffic collision in Marbury, Cheshire involving a vehicle and two horse riders. An investigation began and was concluded in court on 7th January 2026. This investigation has been difficult for everyone involved but highlights the message for drivers to drive with reasonable consideration for all vulnerable road users. As a driver it is your responsibility to remain alert, driving is a huge responsibility. You should drive according to the road conditions and being aware of what is ahead on the roads can save lives.

Our Story
“On 17th September 2024 we decided to go for a hack, we tacked up and headed off down the country lanes as we have done many times before. We both had hi visibility vests on and both horses are sensible on the road. Another normal day.

Unfortunately, our day did not end normally, after being hit by a car both horses ended up on the floor with us falling from them. Only one of our horses got up.

This tragic incident has had a huge impact on us psychologically and physically, and we are lucky to be alive.

Monty sadly wasn’t so lucky and had to be put to sleep on the roadside.

After a long 15 months the driver was found guilty of driving without due care and attention.

Monty is sadly missed by all those who knew and cared for him. Please remember him as we do, an irreplaceable Gentle Giant Friesian who was a beautiful companion and part of our family”.

The British Horse Society (BHS) emphasizes the importance of safety for horse riders on the road. Please revisit the highway code but remember being particularly careful of horse riders and especially when approaching, overtaking, passing or moving away. Always pass wide and slow, with a maximum of 10 mph and when safe to do so allowing at least 2 metres of space.
Remember there are three brains at work when you pass a horse.

This has affected everyone involved, the driver was found guilty, receiving a Fine of £867, Surcharge of £346, Costs of £650, and a discretionary disqualification for 21 days.

Remember Monty, he is a reminder to all of what can happen.

🐴 Owning a horse isn’t always calming.
Sometimes it’s simply… draining.

Winter has a way of stripping away the glossy daydreams ❄️
Daylight disappears, mud multiplies, water freezes, and nothing ever dries.
Every task takes longer, costs more energy, and gives very little back.

What once felt like an escape can start to feel like another demand.

Some days, the yard doesn’t soothe your nervous system — it overwhelms it.
Cold air. Darkness. Noise. Smells. Endless micro-decisions.
What rug? What feed? Are their feet okay? Did you check the weather again?
Hurry and you feel guilty. Slow down and you feel guilty anyway.

Horses don’t adjust their needs to match your capacity.
They still rely on consistency, even when your tank is empty.

This side of horse ownership rarely makes it into highlight reels.

Caring deeply for a horse doesn’t mean every visit feels restorative 🤍
There are days it’s labour. Heavy, physical, unromantic work.
Days it feels like pressure instead of peace.
Days it feels like pushing yourself through thick mud — inside and out.

None of that makes you ungrateful.
It doesn’t mean you chose wrong.
It means winter carries weight.

The comfort horses offer isn’t constant serenity.
It lives in the act of turning up when it’s hard.
In the small, quiet moments that exist alongside exhaustion, not after it disappears.

If winter has you doubting yourself, you’re not falling short 🌧️
You’re just navigating a season where endurance matters more than joy.

And seasons do change 🌼🌸🌻

Beneath the sky, where horses run,
Their spirits bold, their work hard-won,
There walks a soul with hands so kind,
A healer for the equine mind.

Through tendons taut and muscles tight,
She brings her touch, her healing light.
Each stroke, a whisper, soft, profound,
Each knead, a song without a sound.

Her fingers trace the silent pain,
Through knots of toil, through wind and rain.
She speaks in warmth, her language clear—
A trust that draws the anxious near.

From racers bred for fleeting flight,
To sturdy steeds of endless might,
She knows their aches, their silent pleas,
And sets them free with practiced ease.

The barn becomes her sacred space,
Where horse and human share their grace.
No accolades, no grand applause,
Just quiet strength to serve the cause.

For in her craft, a truth revealed:
The power of touch, the gift to heal.
A noble art, her love expressed,
An equine heart forever blessed.

Why is sports massage So important? ⚠️⛔️

Pain and tension relief: Helps loosen tight muscles, relieve spasms, and reduce pain associated with muscle fatigue.

Improved circulation: Stimulates blood and lymphatic flow, which helps deliver nutrients and remove waste from tissues.

Increased flexibility and range of motion: Addresses tight connective tissue and joints, leading to better movement and stride length.

Injury prevention and recovery: Helps identify and address potential problem areas before they lead to injury and can speed up healing from existing injuries or illness.

Enhanced posture and muscle tone: Promotes better muscle tone and can improve overall posture.@
