🌸LETS TALK about a**l glands:
A**l glands in dogs are small, pea-sized pouches located on either side of the a**s that produce a strong-smelling liquid, often used for marking territory and communication with other dogs.
These glands should empty when a dog defecates, but if they don't, blockages, infections, or abscesses can develop, causing discomfort and other issues.
Why do a**l glands get blocked?
Blockages occur when the glands fail to empty naturally, often due to soft stools, obesity, or narrow gland openings.
Impacted a**l glands can be painful and irritating for the dog.
Symptoms of a**l gland issues:
Scooting (dragging their bottom on the ground).
A foul odor, especially around the rear.
Excessive licking or biting at the a**l area.
Discomfort or pain when sitting or walking.
Straining to defecate.
Redness or swelling around the a**s.
🌼 You can add the treatment to your dog's full groom (£ 10 extra) or simply book an a**l gland appointment (£15).
