🥵🧊 Hot weather enrichment ideas for your dogs 🧊🥵

Frozen treats are a brilliant way to help keep dogs cool while also giving them mental stimulation and enrichment!

Here at Braveshot we love:
• Frozen Kongs
• Ice fruit & veg blocks
• Lickimats
• Frozen bone broth cubes

Some safe dog-friendly fruits & veg to freeze:
🥕 Carrots
🫐 Blueberries
🍓 Strawberries
🍉 Watermelon (seedless)
🥒 Cucumber
🍌 Banana
🍎 Apple (no seeds)

You can:
🧊 Freeze them into large ice blocks
🧊 Add them into Kongs with dog-safe yoghurt or pate
🧊 Make frozen lickimats
🧊 Use bone broth for extra flavour and hydration

⚠️ Always supervise your dog with enrichment and introduce new foods slowly.
⚠️ Avoid grapes, raisins, onions, garlic and avocado.

Remember:
☀️ Walk early morning or late evening
💧 Fresh water should always be available
🌳 Stick to shaded areas
🔥 If the floor is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws

Signs of heat stroke can include:
❌ Excessive panting
❌ Drooling
❌ Vomiting
❌ Lethargy
❌ Bright red gums
❌ Collapse

Heat stroke can become fatal very quickly, so prevention is key 🐾

Apologies I am late to post 🫣

I would like to say a huge thank you to the walkers here at Braveshot 🐾
The team all stating work from 06:30 mornings to help beat the heat and keep all of your fur babies safe and comfortable 🥰

Heat stroke in dogs can happen very quickly and can sadly become fatal if not treated early 🥵
Dogs cannot cool themselves down like humans do and mainly rely on panting to regulate their temperature.
No dogs have ever died from missing a walk but some can from being walked

⚠️ Signs of heat stroke can include:
• Excessive panting
• Thick drool/saliva
• Bright red gums
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Weakness or wobbling
• Collapse
• Confusion or not wanting to move

Please remember:
🐾 Avoid walking dogs in the midday heat
🐾 Always provide fresh water
🐾 Use shaded routes where possible
🐾 Never leave a dog in a car, even for a few minutes
🐾 Flat-faced breeds and older dogs are at higher risk in warm weather
