To be fair… we absolutely signed up for this 😅🐾

The job description included:
✔️ Tail wags
✔️ Muddy paws
✔️ Unlimited dog cuddles

It somehow forgot to mention:
❌ Being supervised whilst eating lunch
❌ Negotiating with squirrels
❌ Having your every movement monitored by tiny furry managers

Still the best job in the world.

The noise that every dog walker should hear from every dog on their walkies, the moment that it gets even slightly warm 💦 ☀️

Key things every dog walker should be thinking about on warmer days:

• How hot is the ground
• Is there shade where we are going?
• Even with shade or running water, is it safe?
• Not all water is good water, is it stagnant?
• Should I rearrange to a cooler time in the day?
• If the dog won’t last for their toilet break should I go earlier or later, then should I instead do a garden visit?
• If the walk is safe, do I have plenty of water, bowls and air con?

A bored dog is better than a dead dog. ⚠️

We are LOVING this sunshine ☀️🐾

…but warmer weather also means adapting walks to keep our doggies safe, happy, and comfortable.

Some pups cope brilliantly with the heat and are perfectly happy continuing their walks as usual - especially in shaded woodland areas with access to running water where they can cool down safely 💦🌿

Others can struggle even on mildly warm days, particularly flat-faced breeds, older dogs, anxious dogs, thick-coated dogs, or dogs that simply don’t know when to stop.

That’s why our team may sometimes suggest:
☀️ Earlier or later walks
☀️ Woodland/shaded routes with running water
☀️ Shorter enrichment-based outings
☀️ Pop-in visits with garden time, enrichment & cuddles instead of full walks

Every dog is different, and we always treat them as individuals 💛🐶

Your dog’s safety and wellbeing will always come before sticking rigidly to routine.

I love that when I crouch down, they all immediately assume their positions around me for strokes 😂😍😭🫶

The dogs, however, remain completely unbothered by any of it and are simply thrilled to be outside 🐾

Either way, super proud of these patient little souls… waiting patiently whilst Bex took 28 pics and made all sorts of noises to try to get them to look. They only judged her a tiny bit. 🤏

To be fair… they’re not wrong.

But honestly? Even if we could retire from dog walking tomorrow… we’re not entirely convinced we’d want to 💛🐾

but the sun has really changed the mood around here ☀️🐾

Longer walks, happier dogs, humans feeling slightly more alive again… it’s a whole different energy.

We’ll be making the most of every bit of it 😌🐶
