🌡️🐾 Is It Too Hot to Walk Your Dog? Here’s How to Tell! 🐶🔥

As temperatures rise, our furry friends are at risk of overheating or burning their paws on hot pavement. Here’s how to stay safe: 🙏🏼

🧪 The 5-Second Rule

Before a walk, place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds.
👉 If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws!

🌡️ Watch the Temperature
• Below 24°C: Generally safe, especially in shaded areas.
• 24–29°C: Use caution. Short walks only, avoid midday sun.
• 29–32°C: Risky! Stick to early morning or evening.
• 32°C+: 🚫 Avoid walking! Stay indoors or use shaded grass areas.

⚠️ Signs of Overheating in Dogs
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Lethargy or unresponsiveness
• Vomiting or bright red gums
➡️ Seek shade, water, and veterinary help immediately.

🧊 Tips to Keep Your Pup Cool
• Walk during early morning or late evening
• Stick to grass or shaded trails
• Bring water for both of you
• Consider dog booties for paw protection
• Use cooling vests or wet bandanas

✨ WET WEDNESDAY CHRONICLES: pt 87- The Soggening 😂✨

Some dogs love the rain…
Some dogs hate the rain..:
Some dogs dramatically melt like they’re made of sugar when a single drop hits their nose. 😩😂

But no matter the weather, we’re out there—hood up, lead in hand, dodging puddles and pretending we’re in an action movie montage set in the British countryside. 🎬🐕

So if your pup took one look outside this morning and decided they’re now strictly an indoor dog… don’t worry, we’ve got this. Rain? What rain? Just nature’s way of giving us all a free foot wash. 💦👣

We’re hitting the +20’s this week guys!! And as temps rise, it’s important to adjust your dog walking routine to keep your pup safe and happy ☀️

Here’s some warm-weather walking tips:

1. Walk Early or Late 🌅🌙
Avoid the midday heat—morning or evening walks are best!

2. Check the Pavement ✋🔥
